Lions' Fill-A-Stocking in full swing

Jasper Lions have been working hard getting ready for their annual Fill-a-Stocking program. Over the years the Lions have provided Christmas for thousands of children in Pickens County. Applications are available at DFACS, Headstart, First Baptist Church Preschool, Harmony Elementary, Hill City Elementary, Tate Elementary, Jasper Middle, and Pickens County Junior High.  The deadline for applications is Friday, December 13.

The 39th annual North Georgia Toy Run will take place on Sunday, December 1.  This year, the event is held in memory of Jeanine Hartman, and is sponsored by Custom Riders Motorcycle Club, Hartman T/F Cycles in Canton and Steelhorse Law. The Jasper Lions are grateful for the support of these organizations, and the donations received for the Fill-a-Stocking program from this event.  When all the motorcycles come riding into town led by Santa, it’s quite the sight to see (and hear).

Toy collection boxes are located at Community Bank of Pickens County (branch on Hwy. 53), United Community Bank, Synovus, Renasant, ETC, Deb’s Bakery and Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. Anyone who wishes to make a donation may do so by mailing a check made payable to Jasper Lions Club (please note on the check that the donation is for Fill-a-Stocking) and mail to:  Jasper Lions Club, PO Box 1088, Jasper, GA. 30143.
