New restaurant owner discusses plans for Old Mulehouse

Gastropub slated to open in former NAPA building

Old Mulehouse owners George and Pano Koulouris want to keep many of the unique features of the building, like the silhouette of a staircase on one wall seen above. 

      “It’s going to be like a gastropub,” said The Old Mulehouse co-owner George Koulouris as he gave this reporter a brief tour of the prominent Main Street building that’s been vacant for over a decade. 

     “It’s funny,” he said laughing. “I actually can’t stand the name gastropub - it sounds like you’re going to be sick at the bar - but we’re going to have elevated pub food and Georgia wines and beer. We want to be a place Jasper can really be proud of.”
