Michael Silvers


Michael Jonathan Silvers, 56, of Talking Rock, Georgia passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 at his home.  He was born August 3, 1963 to Samuel and Jerrie Patricia Silvers in Tate, Georgia.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette "Jan" Silvers of Talking Rock; daughter, Felicia Leann Silvers of Atlanta; parents, Samuel and Jerrie Patricia Silvers of Jasper; sister, Michelle Silvers of Ochlocknee, Georgia; and nephew, Patrick Silvers of Ochlocknee, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2020 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Ricky Dean officiating.   Inurnment will follow in the Ball Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, make memorial contributions in Michael's honor to Wounded Warriors at 719-377-9491.

Eve Stapler

Eve Stapler, 72, of Jasper, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. She was born April 7, 1948 to Roy Sr and Edith Stapler. 

She is survived by her children, Denise Walsh of Asheville North Carolina, Sara Reed of Chatsworth, Cindy Reed of Jasper; siblings, Judy Morgan of Florida, Linda Stapler of Atlanta, Anita Rackstraw of Auburn, Brenda Gibbons of Canton, Debbie Stapler of Lilburn; grandchildren, Bobby Reed of Jasper, Alina Wilson of Chatsworth, Trevor Chester of Jasper, James Byess of Chatsworth; great grandchildren, Emma Reed, Carsten Collins, Hunter Chester, Tucker Reed, Jordan Reed and Amila Collins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home.

The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Roper Funeral Home and Crematory from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday June 3 from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Tommy Estes

Mr. Tommy Harold Estes, 72, of Ball Ground, GA passed away Monday, May 25, 2020.

Mr. Estes was born on January 21, 1948 to the late Dozier and Tina Norton Estes. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Charles Estes. Mr. Estes was self-employed in the construction field.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years Cheryl Estes; son Ryan Estes; grandchildren Ava Estes, Zaedyn Estes, and Webster Estes; sister Barbara Estes; and several special nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Mr. Estes wishes were to be cremated. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Mrs. Cheryl Estes, P.O. Box 159, Marble Hill, GA 30148.

Diane Eubanks

June 25, 1949 - May 31, 2020


Ms. Diane Eubanks, 70, of Jasper, a wonderful, devoted wife and mother, passed away Sunday May 31, 2020 at her residence.

Diane was born June 25, 1949 to the late Hugh and Helen Burton Eubanks in Cobb County. She was of Baptist faith and was retired from the Cherokee County Justice Center. Diane brought such joy to her family with love and kindness, and always enjoyed big family gatherings. Her smile and laughter would fill the hearts of everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristie Buchanan of Jasper; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Ron Kinnaird of Franklin, KY; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Donna Eubanks of Jasper, Randy and Christy Eubanks of Jasper, Jeff and Lorenda Eubanks of Dawsonville; nieces, Missy Kinnaird of Franklin, KY, Tonya Bowen and Natasha Davis of Jasper, EmiLeigh Eubanks of Dawsonville; nephews, Skip Eubanks of Ellijay, Cory Eubanks and Kyle Eubanks of Jasper; several great nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her nephew, Chad Eubanks.

Limited visitation will be  Wednesday, June 3, from 8 a.m. until the funeral service.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home, with Rev. Ben Mock officiating.

Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens following the funeral service.
