Charles Vance McMullen, 93, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, October 6, 2019. He was born January 29, 1926 to Margaret and Phillips McMullen in Largo, Florida.
Mr. McMullen is preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne McMullen. He is survived by his daughter, Dianne McMullen.
A memorial service will be held at Fellowship Presbyterian Church in Jasper, Georgia on Friday, October 18 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the church for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Fellowship Presbyterian Church in Mr. McMullen's memory.

Marcia Elizabeth Preble, 70, passed away peacefully in her home in Talking Rock, Georgia on October 8, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born in Savannah, Georgia on December 19, 1948 to Harold Grant and Emmie Woeltjen Preble.
Marcia loved spending time with her family. Her passion for caring for her loved ones showed in everything she did. After retiring from a successful nursing career, she enjoyed spending time in her yard tending to her flowers and plants and we always admired her green thumb. In her younger years she was a Savannah social butterfly. She enjoyed spending time on the Captain Hinkley in the coastal rivers with her father at the helm and other family trips.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Emmie and Harold Preble.
She is survived by her daughter, Josie Thomas and her son-in-law, Keith Thomas; her grandchildren, Caroline and Casey; her great-grandson, River, all of Jasper, Georgia; her daughter, Maggie Munn and her son-in-law, Bill Munn of Savannah, Georgia; her son, Tre’ Buie of Cumming, Georgia; her brother, Clayton and sister-in-law, Chris Preble of Jasper, Georgia; her three nephews, Adam, Glen, and Scott Preble; her brother, Harold and sister-in-law, Janice Preble of Mississippi; her two nieces, Blair Huffmaster and Leah Holmes; and her long-time friend and companion, George Balmer.

Mrs. Clara Mae Quinton, 78, of Jasper passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Wildwood Nursing Center.
Mrs. Quinton is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robby and Gaye Quinton of Talking Rock; her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Jimmy Caylor of Jasper; three grandchildren, Daniel Caylor, Katie Caylor and Sarah, and husband John Mayfield as well as three step grandchildren. Clara is also survived by four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Quinton is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Quinton; and brother, Randall Teem.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the Cagle Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kenneth Kirk and Rev. Danny Townsend officiating.
Interment followed at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.

Rev. Luke Wheeler, 88, of Fairmount, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Danny May and Rev. James Gambill officiating. Interment followed in Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. Wheeler was a Church of God minister and served many churches in north Georgia for over 48 years. He served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed eating at Bojangles, playing checkers, walking, gardening and loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wheeler; parents, Carl and Ruth Wheeler; two brothers and one sister. Luke is survived by his son, Lynn Wheeler (Donna); grandchildren, Nathanael Wheeler, Becca Crump (Stacy) and Matthew Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Anna Crump and Emily Crump; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Mr. Tony Payne, 78, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Friday, October 11, 2019 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lloyd and Erma Payne and his son-in-law, Mark Stout.
Charles Anthony Payne (Tony) was born in Whitestone, GA on February 23, 1941, the son of Erma Dale Payne and John Lloyd Payne. He was born at home and remained a resident of Pickens County his entire life. After graduating Shorter College, Tony married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Sandra Wheeler Payne, in 1964. Together they had two children, Charles Anthony Payne, Jr. “Chuck” and Tonia Len Payne Stout.
Tony worked for The Georgia Marble Company for over 30 years and would enthusiastically admit that he enjoyed retirement much more. Tony served many years as chairman of the deacons at First Baptist Church Jasper, and in his free time enjoyed hunting, shooting, and occasionally shared his talents with the Tater Patch Players in musicals such as Oklahoma and The Music Man. Cowboy movies were his favorite, and it was understood that you do not interrupt John Wayne movies.
Tony is survived by his wife, Sandra Payne; his brother, Bob Payne (Mary Ellen); his sister, Patsy Payne Benson; his children, Chuck Payne (Lisa) and Tonia Payne Stout; one niece, many nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, and also his grandchildren, Julianna Payne, Sam Stout, Lucy Stout and Molly Stout.
Tony would unashamedly acknowledge that his grandchildren were the light of his life, kept the twinkle in his eye, and were his proudest accomplishment. He also loved his dog Izzy, which Sandra told him he could not have.
Tony’s sense of humor, kind smile, and tender heart will be missed by everyone privileged to have known him.
A celebration of his life was held at Roper Funeral Home in Jasper on Monday, October 14th at 11 a.m. with Dr. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Interment followed in Lake Forest Memorial Park.

Barbara “Barb” Marley Brown, 75, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019 in the Carrus Specialty Hospital, Sherman, Texas.
She was born on October 13, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland to John Wesley and Thelma Marian (Hines) Marley-Cass and was the youngest of three children.
After graduating from high school, she attended Maryland Institute of Art. After which she received her C.N.A. and began her career as a pediatric nurses aid. From this career experience she began Nannies Funny Farm Day Care Center in Daytona Beach, Fl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Thelma Marian (Hines) Marley-Cass. Her husband, George Joseph Brown, Senior. Survived by children, George Joseph Brown, Jr., John Joseph Brown, Richard Theodore Brown, Angel Dawn Price and Marian Marley Salters. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and great-grandchildren (still counting).
There will be a private ceremony with family and loved ones at a later date.

Carl Wayne Sissom, 83, of Bent Tree, Jasper passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019.
Carl was born in Grundy County, Tennessee as the oldest child of eight, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Sissom, coalminers. He served his country in the US Navy for 20 years and six years retired civil service. Mr. Sissom obtained his Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration, worked as a mental health therapist at Parkside Lutheran General Hospital in Chicago, totaling 45 years as a certified alcohol/drug counselor. He and his wife, Noranna, moved to the Bent Tree Community in Jasper in fall of 1998. Mr. Sissom inspired thousands of people with his stories of healing and life.
Carl was preceded in death by his sister, Gwindelyn Sue Hall and is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Noranna Jean Sissom; children, Kimberly (Richard) Burgess, James (Lisa) Sissom and Christopher Sissom; step-children, Jay (Margie) Wingender and Alyssa (Christopher) Vaughan; 17 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings, Richard Sissom, Judy Sissom, Roger Sissom, Billy Lynn Hatfield, Della Peterson and Debbie Patton and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for Carl at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family, 202 Griffith Road, Jasper, GA.
