Len Hill

Lenwood George (Len) Hill, 80, died at dawn on Saturday, April 27, 2019 after a long illness, surrounded by his family.

A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Len was born in Westfield, Massachusetts and spent his youth in Brimfield, Massachusetts where he graduated from high school. He then joined the Massachusetts Army National Guard and served for several years.  Len was a graduate of Central Connecticut State College and had a 35-year career with Pratt & Whitney, retiring from Customer Service as a Senior Technical Writer.

He married the love of his life, Marion, and lived for many years in Vernon, Connecticut where they raised their two children.  They later moved to Jupiter, Florida where he developed a passion for golf and a love of that beautiful state.  Len was a strong Christian and a willing volunteer always and served in many leadership roles over the years.  He was also actively involved in the activities of his children and grandchildren, and was their most faithful fan.

Len and his wife have lived in Jasper, Georgia since 2008 in order to be closer to family.  Here in Bent Tree, Len was able to expand his love of golf and played multiple times weekly for as long as he was able.  He was also a master woodworker who designed and built beautiful pieces of furniture as well as many gifts for friends and family.  He loved music and was most comfortable with a guitar in his hands and a harmonica around his neck.  He had a positive attitude and a generous heart and loved to be around his friends and family.

Len was preceded in death by his parents, Vernard and Dora Hill.  He is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Marion (Healy) Hill; daughter, Pamela Fuchs (Peter Lokuta) of Canton; son, Steven Hill (Stacy) of Canton; grandchildren, Savannah, Casey and Bradley Fuchs; a sister, Louise Asarisi of Connecticut; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Herbert and Sheila Healy of New Hampshire and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Roper Funeral Home and a memorial service on Friday, May 10 at 3 p.m. at Jasper United Methodist Church with a Celebration of Len's Life to follow at Club Tamarack in Bent Tree.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Bent Tree Foundation; Bent Tree Golf Course Beautification; 744 Noah Drive, Suite 113-184; Jasper, Georgia  30143.
