David Ingram

David Larry Ingram, 70, of Ball Ground, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at home. 

Survivors include his  sons, Jason Harley Ingram of Ball Ground, Josh Ingram of Ball Ground; daughter, Julie Ingram of Ball Ground; brother, Bobby Ingram of Cartersville; sister, Brenda Ingram of Ball Ground; sister, Geri Bishop of Jasper; sister, Lavern Dean of Jasper; grandchildren, Kasi Jeans, Andrew Ingram, Emma Venable, Elyssa Ingram, Ely Holden; great-grandchildren, Brayden Jeans, Grant Lee Ingram, Makenzie Davis, and Makayla Davis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ingram and brother, Richard Ingram.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Gene Hyde officiating.  He will remain in the care of the staff of Roper Funeral Home as he is cremated.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper.

Richard McClure

May 22, 1989 - May 5, 2018


Mr. Richard Glenn McClure, 28, of Ellijay, Ga. died Saturday, May 5, 2018 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. 

Mr. McClure was born on May 22nd, 1989 in Gwinnett county to his father Floyd McClure and mother Tina Tuck Bowen.

He worked as a lineman for Mastec.

He is survived by his wife, Ashley Peterson and daughters, Kailyn, Sadie and Gracie McClure; father and step-mother Floyd and Lori McClure; mother, Tina Tuck Bowen; grandparents, Thomas and Diane Thornhill and Marvin and Fannie Samples; brothers and sisters, Kyle, Kevin, Corey, Ashley, Joanna, Jessica, Amanda, Brittany and Keri; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.


Thelma Reeves


Thelma Mae Reeves, 87, of Canton, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at her home.  

Survivors include nephews, Chris Denson of Canton, Junior Denson of Canton, Gene Denson of Canton; nieces, Diana Ratcliff of Waleska, Christine Poole of Waleska, Carolyn Byess of Jasper, and Janet Blackwell of Jasper.  Several other family members also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Reeves; parents, Walter and Jewel Denson; brother, Sam Denson; sister, Maxine Ship; nephews, Jackie Denson, Ronnie Denson; and niece, Johnny Sue Free.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Bethany Baptist Church.   Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper.

Sharon Parris

Sharon Louella Parris, 72, of Smyrna, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 in McKinney, TX. 

The funeral was held on Saturday, May 12 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Interment followed in Talking Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Parris of Norcross; brother, J.I. (Clara) Reece of Jasper; sisters,  Brenda Romero of Smyrna and Freda (Robert K.) Kaneko of Houston, TX; grandchild, Kellsie Fazzio; great-grandchildren, Natalee Fazzio and Axel Fazzio.

The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of these arrangements.


Gus Moore

Gus Griffin Moore, 95, of Resaca, died Friday, May 11, 2018 at home, following several months of declining health. 

He was born on October 20, 1922 in Waleska, Georgia to the late Tomp and Effie Cline Moore. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, J.D. Moore of Canton, Georgia and Tomp Moore, Jr. of Waleska; two sisters-in-laws, Elsie Moore and Barbara Moore and a grandchild, Calvin Kelly. Gus was a veteran, serving his country in the US Navy. He has been a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Waleska, Georgia his entire life. He served as a deacon, supported his church in whatever capacity needed, and would drive or fly his family to church each Sunday.  Gus was known as a farmer and crop duster in Gordon County. He moved his family to Resaca in 1954 and began farming. He added land and spent his whole life on a tractor, planter, combine, or in a plane working to grow crops. He operated one of the first slatted floor feed lots for cattle, had a hog operation, and was recognized as an innovative farmer who did no till planting. He was a member of the Red Carpet Cattlemen Association, Georgia and American Soybean Associations, Georgia Soybean Commission, and Moore’s Reunion Association.

Gus was survived by his wife of 70 years, Dell Sartor Moore, his sons and daughter-in-law, Joe S and Martha Moore and Tim Moore all of Resaca, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Kelley of Dawsonville, Georgia; sister-in-law, Jackie Moore of Canton, Georgia; niece, Sara Lewis of Waleska, Georgia; grandchildren, Leah and Mike Duzy, Andrew and Savannah Moore, Elisabeth and Joe McKague, and Joshua and Brandy Kelly; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Zachary Duzy, Jacob and Joseph Moore, Mathias and Esther McKague and Mackenzie Kelly.

Service to honor the life of Gus Griffin Moore will be held at Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Waleska on Wednesday, May 16 at 2 p.m. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the funeral. Pallbearers serving are Jared Moore, Sam Moore, Michael Moore, Jonathan Lewis, Kenneth Le’Sesne, Jeff Hodges, Dryden Lewis and Bill Price; Honorary Pallbearers will include, Employees of Moores Seed and Grain Farms, Resaca Sun Products, Resaca Sun Feeds, Jim Ledbetter, Bill Volum, Mack Tilley, Sam Ingram and Billy Bearden. Music will be provided by Andrew and Savannah Moore. Burial will follow in Shoal Creek Baptist Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank Hamilton Hospice, and Care Givers/sitter, Becky Dean, Alona Faustova, Brenda Jones, Cindy Brookshire and Heather Brookshire.

Teogilo Brunner

Teofilo Ricardo Brunner, 87, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 4:02 a.m. on Sunday, May, 13, 2018 at his residence. Born on June 23, 1930 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he was the son of Teofilo and Elena (Prendergast) Brunner.

Teofilo attended Argentina schools and graduated college earning his engineering degree. On February 25, 1957 Teofilo married Maria Delia Osuna in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Teofilo worked in the food industry, which brought him to the United States, where he became an international business traveler and visited every continent on earth. In 1995, Teofilo retired and made Jasper, GA his home. While there, he attended Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church.  In 2017, he moved to Columbia City.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Delia Brunner of Columbia City; children, Gerardo Teofilo Brunner of Erwin, NC, and Laura (Steve) Kyler of Columbia City; grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Brunner of North Carolina, Robin (Kurt) Russman of Ohio, Brandy Nicole Kyler of Columbia City, and Holly Marie (James) Kyler Sibray of Attica; great-grandchildren, Teofilo Christopher Brunner of CA, Renae and Camille Russman of Ohio, and Natalia Isabella of North Carolina; numerous family members in Argentina and Uruguay.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In accordance with the wishes of Teofilo, there will be no services at this time.
