1) That you don't really know what your talking about.
2) That you don't research and know the facts before presenting an opinion.
3) That you get insulting when anyone has an opinion opposite yours.
4) That you only want to present information that will prove you as an Einstein to us "country bumpkins".

I swore I would never take a party side in a discussion but Rob drove me to it. Like the question I posted most recently. If out of the last 27 Presidents 18 were Republican and 9 were Democrats then the numbers show that the economy the result of 67% of the Repubicans and 33% of the Democrats. (I really don't put much value on the party titles but many do.) You see, Rob, this is called evaluating a number into a percentage and basing an opinion on the result of that persentage.
If we put it into another form... If you hold up a dollar right now, the Republican decided what to do with it 67% of the time. So who made 67% of the US policy, tax laws, war, and such. Your right a Republican. They have shaped the dollar and our country into what it is today.

Speaking of taxpayer logic, In 1967, the House Ways and Means Committee predicted that the new Medicare program, launched the previous year, would cost about $12 billion in 1990. Actual Medicare spending in 1990 was $110 billion—off by nearly a factor of 10.
These nuts are now telling us health care will not add one dime to the deficit. Although the dissenting evaluation is it will add up to $2 trillion. I think the reality will be, based on how our government operates, taxes will have to go up tremendously and debt funding is inevitable. So maybe $20 trillion of debt is a more accurate figure over time.

Let's say you have a piece of rental property, and Joe Sixpack rents it from you. You would probably say that you pay taxes on the property, not Mr. Sixpack...and you would be dead wrong. You may actually write the check, but Mr. Sixpack pays the taxes every time he writes you a check for rent.
When you walk into Kroger and buy a loaf of bread, or go to Bargain Barn and buy a Glock mod. 23, you are paying the property taxes for Kroger and Bargain Barn. Their taxes are figured in the price of what they sell...they write the check, but the individual actually pays the taxes they collect from you at checkout.
No company, no organization, no "entity" pays taxes, they only collect them from individuals and pass them along to the government. Individuals, and ONLY individuals pay taxes...and ALL of them do...which is why all folks should have a say and why all folks should be vocally pissed off at the waste in Washington, Atlanta, and at the local courthouse.

I worked with an ex-army female in Charleston last year for a defense contractor. She gets a disability check for "mental health issues", and has 2 kids. Among her benefits is a huge refund check every year from the IRS, as she was quite proud to show everyone who would pay attention, and virtually pays NO taxes. Federal or state. She owned no property. Do people like this have more of a right to voice their opinions than me?
What exactly IS the criteria for enjoying my God-given rights? Or is Chuck too busy going through my tax returns right now!

Marine, I mostly agree with your post. My perception is that Obama is a front man for radicals with radical agenda. He's just a professional campaigner. The real threat is the radical movement that surrounds him, that is behind him, that he owes favors to, and that he himself has said publicly is helping to shape his administration's agenda.
As far as Afg. you are right on. He, Pelosi, Reid, and even Kerry (who seems to be running his war policy) ALL said last year that the priority should have been Afg. Obama said this many, many times during the campaign. He is dropping the ball in a bad way and I'm not convinced he can lead much less inspire any foreign ops regardless of troop levels. It's time to bring them all home.

Obama visits a solar project in Fla....
The project cost $150 million to build and only provides power to 3000 homes, that's $50,000 cost per home. As much as I'd like to see solar work, it is not worth it yet. Not even close.... Furthermore, you could equip. an average home with Solar power for about $30,000 to $40,000. Keep in mind Solar Panels only last about 20 to 25 years.
Solar sounds good but it cost way way tooo much!!

To Jack the Jerk. The approximate cost for ONLY those 32 Czars is around $5.8 mil in annual salary and benefits. Go to www.usajobs.gov to see when these jobs are advertised and the salary band.
I would agree with an overhaul team to go in and look at processes and provide feedback for streamlining processes and costs cutting, but this move by the government was a 'jobs' gig for constituents. I don't believe Obama is any of those names he's been called. I'm going to make a prediction though. Since our Generals have asked Obama for more troops, he's been dragging his feet as anyone would agree.October has been the deadliest month since 2001. What's coming up? You bet, the elections. Timing is always discussed in the White House. Either more troops will appear,(though late), or we'll withdraw from a part of the world that actually calls their own troops, "puppets", for listening to Obama and our troops.Which do you think will happen? My understanding is that man-made co2 only accounts for less than 3% of all the co2 produced on earth. Seems quite unlikely that that could cause a major climate change.
My understanding is that the average temperature of the earth has not changed in the last 11 years and that the oceans are not rising.
My understanding, after several european newspapers, is that they consider the US moving towards Socialism.

In the interest of calling a spade a spade, I looked up Carol Browner (Obama's climate czar) and read the usual socialism garbage. Then I wound up on the Democratic Socialists of America site through Browner's story in the Post. Funny. In any case, here is what is writted in their "Where We Stand" page:
"We are socialists because we reject an international economic order sustained by private profit, alienated labor, race and gender discrimination, environmental destruction, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo.
We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane international social order based both on democratic planning and market mechanisms to achieve equitable distribution of resources, meaningful work, a healthy environment, sustainable growth, gender and racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships."
It also has a youth division! It says, "the Youth Section works on economic justice and democracy and prison justice projects. It is a member of the Interantional Union of Socialist Youth, an affiliate of the Socialist International.
Further they write,
At the end of the 20th century, such hope and vision seem all but lost. The unbridled power of transnational corporations, underwritten by the major capitalist nations, has created a world economy where the wealth and power of a few is coupled with insecurity and downward mobility for the vast majority of working people -in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Traditional left prescriptions have failed on both sides of the Communist/socialist divide.

Does this sound frighteningly like what these liberals are spouting right here on this board? I would challenge Pinto, Gerd, Lord, Chuck to just admit you are what you are so we just have it on record. I would love the administration to finally fess up to this too. Just stop pretending.

Let's see if I got this right ...Al Gore is so oncerned with Global Warming and is convinced it is man-made so he hops in a private jet and travels the world to promote this cause. Wouldn't this make him a major contributer to the problem. Wonder why he doesn't travel in an electric car instead. Hmmm...Sounds real concerned to me.

Well, another gem from our resident genius. What you failed to comprehend from what I wrote on the matter, “There is no scientific consensus”. What we have is a movement with a socialist “world government” agenda, in power in our government who throws up incomplete science (reference the “oops” they made in the math when calculating carbon emissions just this week) to justify their ends. Only a radical would deny the other thousands of well-credentialed scientists in the world who can also prove the exact opposite of what the radicals claim is occurring. Why then would the president try to ram such a devastating bill down our throats based on what “their” geniuses tell them? There is way too much dissent within the scientific community to make decisions that will potentially destroy our economy and even threaten our sovereignty. I will say again, this movement is NOT about climate change! Never has been! (Even the climate change legislation won’t have any effect on temperatures) It is about control.

What an idea. I'll have to consider that. Thanks for yor concern for me. Don't feel very insignificant though. At the end of the day I have a great life, a home, good friends and a fantastic wife and family. I think it is important to talk about the fraud and nefariousness in our socialist government. You say “whine”, I consider myself mad as hell that the administration supports taxpayer grants to fund a corrupt organization that supports illegal activity. Not just deceptive, illegal. Not alleged, proven by evidence, confessions and convictions! Nice try. Actually it wasn’t really a nice try. You are using words uniquely intended to dodge the truth and mislead. By the way, the illegal registrations are around 99% Democratic. Don’t presume to have people believe the myth that Acorn is an equal opportunity criminal organization.

Did you meant to be deceptive, or was that a typo. I have maintained that neither group should have been funded or taken over, in their respective situations. As far as bank execs failing at their jobs, the only outcome of that theory should be failure, or a private buyout. NOT government takeover.

I want the government’s mits out of the private sector, always have. You just haven’t paid attention. Problem is you and your ilk WANT the government to control every aspect of private life which is absolutely against what the constitution stands for. I support the idea that if you have turned on the constitution, there are other countries for you to live in that might be more friendly to your ideals. Leave this one alone.
As for the remainder of your childish rant and name-calling, that’s just what I have come to expect. I would suggest you consider what that does to your credibility.

"Nice Try" as someone posted about my response to global warming. You have got to be kidding me. You are finding obscure journals and fringe elements to deny global warming. The basic contention is that the vast majority of scientists, major corporations, even John McCain, acknowledged that the science is there --global warming is occcuring and it's man-made.
It's not some plot to overthrow the U.S. nor is it an attempt to bring in socialism. And in fact China and India have signed a pact to be cooperative at Copenhagen at the big international meeting on climate change later this year.
Man, I'm going to go smoke a pack of healthy healthy cigarettes.

Ok, back to the socialists in the administration. Obama will announce today he is dedicating $3.4 billion to construction of "smart grid" electrical grids. Basically it turns your ability to determine your own energy usage over to the government. Carol Browner, the climate czar is ALL OVER this thing.

Browner, President-elect Barack Obama's pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for "global governance" and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.
By Thursday, Mrs. Browner's name and biography had been removed from Socialist International's Web page, though a photo of her speaking June 30 to the group's congress in Greece was still available.
Socialist International, an umbrella group for many of the world's social democratic political parties such as Britain's Labor Party, says it supports socialism and is harshly critical of U.S. policies.
Mrs. Browner ran the Environmental Protection Agency under President Clinton. Until she was tapped for the Obama administration, she was on the board of directors for the National Audubon Society, the League of Conservation Voters, the Center for American Progress and former Vice President Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection. -Washington Post 1/12/09
