Guard,

You should know that "rich folks" aren't the biggest benefactor of stimulus money: States who used the funds to relieve debt, and labor unions are. Even the white house economists admit the program is innefective, but saying rich people benefitted the most is inaccurate.

This is fascinating:

President Obama took time Thursday -- before jetting off to Asia for a 10-day tour -- to announce a December jobs summit aimed at synching job growth with the massive government spending meant to "break the back" of the recession

A job summit. Maybe there will be beer? How about do what every past president has done to steer out of recession? Cut taxes, ease the burden on business and STOP spending! He needs a summit? This is a JOKE.

PHS Parent:

I can only say that there are two important investigations. One I can comment on, is the break-in that occurred over the weekend. 3 kids broke into PHS-actually didn't have to break in, the alarm has been disabled ever since construction started, and performed several acts of vandalism. One is 18 years old, the other two juveniles from Gilmer. I understand all 3 turned on each other during questioning and were arrested. [Editor's Note: You can also go to the homepage of this site and read entire story about vandalism, arrest and investigation.]

The other involves a personnel matter of a sensitive nature that I would be hesitant to publish because I want the investigation to be untarnished and properly completed. I will say that nobody's kids are in danger, not at all. It is a leadership issue that falls under the state code of ethics. I'm hugely upset about the allegations, and will stay tuned to the situation but just don't think its right to drag it around until the issue is closed legally. My concern is the issue being "buried", so I'm paying attention.

Again, this doesn't effect the safety of the kids, nor does it the quality of their education. Feel free to email me if you like.

Guard,

Thank you, apology accepted. I appreciate that very much.

I think you are mistaken about what you think I don’t have a grasp on: I have made many, many references to Social Security constantly going broke. I even stated how congress keeps “borrowing” from the trust fund and sticking bonds into the file to pay back in, that are worth less than the funds congress “borrows”. Remember the conversation about the privatization of SS funds from 2 months ago? I know it is in trouble, as is every entitlement program ever passed by congress. Every one of them.

I didn’t mean to say that the US government is charitable. The government stupidly pays most of the UN costs for these programs, which sends massive amounts of money to foreign governments run by warlords and despots. Do we really think our money is doing any good in that respect? I mean the PEOPLE of the US are the most charitable people in the world. Private organizations and individuals do the most good for people in need, not governments. That is the principle meaning of charity, people helping people. Charity is its own reward.

The "Takings Clause" of the Fifth Amendment prohibits the Federal Government from taking property for public use without compensation.

The proposed fees to be charged people that do not want health insurance amounts to taking private property from individuals for public use. Public use being the funding of the health care plan.

These fees that will be charged all people that do not want to pay for health care and do not wish to have health care insurance amount to a violation of the "Takings Clause" of the 5th amendment.

I know Obama is aware of this clause and is ignoring it just to get this bill passed. Obama spent a great deal of time studying the constitution....

Old Guard...the first line from your explanation last post explains what is wrong with your reasoning.

"President Obama sends money out to stimulate the economy."

I don't like the way AIG, Citi, GM, Chrysler, et al spent and are spending the money Obama gifted to them, but I'm not mad at them. Why should I be? They don't work for me (unless I'm a customer of theirs) and they aren't the ones who took the money from me, at the point of a gun, in the first place...Obama and the congress did...so THAT'S who I'm pissed at...the folks who stole my money to give to someone else.

Perhaps put in terms closer to home might make it more understandable to you.

I have a neighbor who has been out of work for a while and is having trouble paying her bills. Now, just like the government, I have no money of my own, only what I take, by force, from other people, so, to help her I come to your house (because, after all, you are one of the evil, filthy rich) and take some of your money, at the point of a gun, and give it to her.

To show her gratitude...she pisses the money away at the liquor store on gin and cigarettes.

Now...who should you be mad at? Her, for misspending the money taken from you by force, or me, the thief who stole it from you in the first place?

Your post shows why folks on here disparage you so much. It isn't that you disagree with what they say...its that you aren't even smart enough to know who to be mad at.

Rob,

I am sorry for that comment. (I'm on bended knee, head bowed and weaping heavily) It was in bad taste and it was not right for me to make that comment with all the polite and loving comments you have posted to me.

I agree that the whole Obama Plan is laughable. Correct my logic but this is my take on the whole thing.

President Obama sends money out to stimulate the economy. The companies spend the money on their bonuses and lay off more workers. These workers draw unemployment because no one is hiring. The president gives more money to get companies to hire workers. The compinies spend the money on more bonuses and layoff even more workers.
Now you have hundreds of thousands of people (including women and children) without a paycheck, insurance, homes or anything. Where are they going to get insurance? and with what money? The company owners have now taken millions of dollars each and you say don't tax the rich!!!
Brian, the rich have all the stimulus money!! They just lined their pockets with gold and are unwilling to pay even 10% of their wealth so the country can survive. I think I understand perfectly well why so many are outspoken on the healthcare. If it passes the rich company owners will have to pay some of the money back for the health of their employees.

You stated..."You believe taxing the nation into poverty in order to provide 15 million more people with health insurance run by the government has anything to do with charity? This nation is the most charitable nation on the PLANET. No argument, end of story. Charity has NOTHING to do with taxes."

Yes Rob, the US is charitable... to other countries not our own when they need it. The ones that are giving usually are the ones that demand a piece of paper from me so they can write it off their taxes!!

The thing that you cannot seem to grasp is that the Social Security that you are looking forward to collecting in the future will be the first program to be liquidated if the US goes broke. Before you say anything about the money you paid in... it is my understanding that the money you paid in has paid someone older's claim while someone younger is paying in the money that you will begin to collect. If there is not someone younger working....no money.

If there is no one working then taxes have to increase to make up for the loss of revenue. You did study economics didn't you? For example: if you have 100 people paying 10% taxes you collect 1000 dollars. Now if you layoff 50 people and have only 50 people left you only collect 500 dollars, therefore taxes go up to fill the gap and you find 50 people paying 20% instead of 10%. Basic economic math. Your taxes will go up because of the people that the companies laidoff and not because they quite to become couch-potatoes (as you seem to imply).

Jeep,

My comments on healthcare were in direct relation to Rob calling himself a Christian and then worring more about money than the health and well being of anyone else. This is not what God told us to do!

Here are the verses you asked for:

'If one of your countrymen becomes poor and is unable to support himself among you, help him as you would an alien or a temporary resident, so he can continue to live among you. (Leviticus 25:35)

A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor. (Proverb 22:9)

He who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth and he who gives gifts to the rich--both come to poverty. (Proverb 22:16)

Do not exploit the poor because they are poor and do not crush the needy in court, for the LORD will take up their case and will plunder those who plunder them. (Proverbs 22:22-23)

This is in stricking contrast to Allah who, in the Quran, tells his followers to not share with infidels but to take all they can plunder from the weak and that he will only prosper those who convert to Islam only.

To answer your second question about church/state:

The 1st Ammendment clearly has two clauses on this.

1) There cannot be a nationally created religion and solely required religion by the US Government.

2) There cannot be interference of the US Government in the persuit, practice or gathering of a religion for any reason.

By this ammendment, the US Government cannot prohibit nor condone the practice of any religion on public/government property by a non-government, free individual. They cannot even bother a church unless they have a tax-exempt status.

If you want to challange this view? Just remember the same view that courts are using to keep Christians out of schools and such can be used to keep ALL religions (from native american, irish, orthodox, atheism and new age) out of schools. That includes the small churches using school buildings on Sunday to worship.

I don't wish to preach but if Rob needs to know what he's talking about before he post such rubbish about Allah being peaceful, loving and such.

Perhaps I'm using too many big words for you. I never said "Muslims should be eliminated". I said... repeatedly... that religion should never be used as a scapegoat for violence. Nor should it be used as an excuse to invoke political correctness, eg: being polite to people who are trying to kill us all because they are a social-political subset. or are perceived as such. Having said that, if all terrorists are perverting their religion in order to gain access to the US from within, those people should be called out, highly investigated and watched.

I trust this will also influence any other judge who tend to drag their feet on timely response to needed rulings (not that any of them ever violate the required time limits)

It is no secret how some get away with this. Most people are afraid of the court system to begin with and if any particular judge has the case, most of the public are afraid to muddy the waters for fear the judicial decision will be prejudiced against them. Thus fearing the possibilities of judicial power most are afraid to push any judicial wrong towards right.

This article does bring into question how much some judges get away with before anything gets done. Shame on such.

Rob,

I think you are confused yet again or just wanting to twist my words around for your on purposes.

You stated "In one breath you almost propose that Muslims have an excuse to kill people, because we encourage their actions, then you paint Muslims as a plague driven by an evil doctrine. YOU can’t have it both ways."

I'm not skirting the fence but you sure are. You say the muslims need to be eleminated but then you say how "warm and fuzzy" you feel toward them and their Quran.

I have never condoned their actions nor will I ever. I even stated that I DID NOT beleive the attack against us on 9-11 was justified. You made the statement about how wonderful it is that Islam and Christians worship the same God and I, having researched the pros and cons of the Bible and Quran in relation to their theology, corrected you on your short-sighted observations. Bluntly, if you were really Christian, you would realize that Allah and God are two different Lords and, as for the Cathlic Church (an organization of man not God)excluding the Old Testament, no where does the KJV, NKJV, RSV, NASV, NIV or even the "good times" Bible ever report that God said to ignore the Old Testament. Jesus sumed the 10 Commandments into 2 condenced commands so the average, non-priestly person could carry it with them always.

Furthermore, I said that your idea about "attack and kill" every radical muslim would only, through their idealogy as written in the Quran, encourage them to attack, injure and slay thousands more non-muslim people in the name of Allah. Rob, I suggest you actually read the Quran and then come back to this conversation. I think you would be surprised to find that in the text of the Quran it says you can not worship both the Christian/Judean God and Islamic Allah. The Quran itself states that you must "convert", pay an attonement and in time you will be redeemed to Allah's graces through action against anyone who opposes Allah. If you are found not to avenge Allah to an infidel, then that person is condeemed to death... on the spot... no trial.... not questions... to appeal. Sounds like a loving lord and religion to me.

I'm proud of you for bumping elbows with a muslim but there are muslims sects out there that shun the violent aspects of the Quran. You now, like there are doctrine differences between Baptist, Cathlics, Protestants and Atheists. Your statement means nothing about their beliefs but speaks volumes about their manners around the big ole American.

To answer a question posted by Jeep, I think it was. I believe Obama is not Christian nor Muslim but is the result of the "new age" religion that only takes a little doctrine from here and a little doctrine from there and combines it into the "sugar and spice" of all religions. Sound formiliar to something you read Brian? The new agers are closer to the one world religion than anyone. As stated before, I am an independent voter who did not vote for Obama because I did not trust his shifty answers to questions. After hearing Pastor Wright's views, I wonder how Obama could be in the congregation without having the hateful messages sink into his thoughts as well.

Frankly, I think Brian just loves to hear his own voice. Is it my imagination or does he post the most on here, that is next to me addressing his stuffy and misleading words.

Old Guard, that was an interesting post on the muslim faith. I came across some teaching a few years ago along the lines of what you posted. As a young adult I never could understand why the muslims fought the Jews when they were worshiping the same God. Then 18 years ago I got saved and started reading the Bible, going to church and learning. I saw why the Arabs and the Jews didn't see eye to eye that they are the sons of the slave woman and the Jews of the free woman.

About 10 years ago my studies came across the fact that allah is the moon god, not anything but. It is sad that so many want serve him and to die in his name but that is their choice. I often think about what goes through their minds when they die and learn the truth. Sheer terror and horror without a doubt.

Rob,

"Our Dear Leader is a muslim?" Really now. I watched that video and found it to be rather "choppy" and without any expanded verbal context as to what followed the illustrious words spoken. In fact it was worse than any movie clip a third grader could produce.

In the beginning of the clip I heard him say that if we lived in a house with a muslim, as he did growing up, then people would understand their beliefs. The "as I am" statement was an affirmation that he had lived in such a condition of understanding not that he was admitting to being muslim.

Rob, this tape would not even get a court case started to prove the claim that he is muslim. If anything it shows an admiration of the Islamic achievement.

By the way, jeep, I find the current Christians leading by example everyday. They lie, kill, steal and covet to get ahead. I find that a majority of people under the age of 40 to be so lacking in direction, conviction and belief in God to understand anything spiritual. Every day I run into people who are ruled not by God's word but by this world sin. A true Christian would look to their Bible and see that homosexual activity is a sin, greed is a sin, adultry is sin, murder is sin and basically worshipping other idols is sin. A true Christian would not condone any un-biblical activities at all.

For instance, Brian has made a point about the health care bill. He is more concerned with the money than the health of his fellow human being. Why? The Bible tells us to be generous and loving to our fellow man. In fact the Bible says we are to "lift up" our fellow man and not suppress him to slavery. Amen.

You have those confused with the Ten Commandments. And with these things from Proverbs: "six things the Lord hateth, and the seventh His soul detesteth."

• Haughty eyes
• A lying tongue
• Hands that shed innocent blood
• A heart that devises wicked plots
• Feet that are swift to run into mischief
• A deceitful witness that uttereth lies
• Him that soweth discord among brethren

In the end, as guns don’t kill people: people do, the Quran isn’t solely responsible here. These people are who pervert religion to satisfy or suit their agenda. I think we can agree on that.

Take what I said and glean whatever meaning you wish, but there shouldn’t be any perception of ambiguity on the part of an intelligent person. You have said some contradicting things yourself. In one breath you almost propose that Muslims have an excuse to kill people, because we encourage their actions, then you paint Muslims as a plague driven by an evil doctrine. YOU can’t have it both ways. My point is very simple: Don’t use religion as a scapegoat, or a mitigating factor. Terrorists are Muslims but not all Muslims are terrorists… YET. And Muslims should not enjoy protections of any kind based on any implication of race. The gloves have to come off.

Oh, and I certainly have met real Muslims. And some of them I did meet, well I introduced them to Allah personally. On behalf of the Marines blown up in their barracks. I did enjoy meeting a few in Egypt, though who were just frightened by other Muslims.

Marine... A slurpe and a pack of camels. Wonder what flavor he got?

I wonder if Pelosi got a slurpe after the health care vote? Her an Opie could enjoy one together as they savior the victory.

Our Dear Leader is a muslim? I couldn't tell! Please watch this video, it is very enlightening. From Obama's own claim to be a Muslim, to him bowing to the Saudi king. This is exactly why we are to "not jump to conclusions" about Major Hasan.

You just have to laugh at this stuff, another story about the fuzzy math used in stimulus reporting. This from SC:

"The report was released to show Washington's attempt to prop up the ailing economy, but a closer look reveals that the state's jobs estimate was calculated using misreported figures and relied on business owners' best judgment.

Frank Hefner, an economics professor at the College of Charleston, said assigning a certain number of jobs to a fixed amount of federal money is a nearly impossible task, but he said he was amused that executives and agencies had to "take a wild stab at it."

A closer look at some of South Carolina's largest job-stimulus contracts show the reports are fraught with errors.

The largest job creation effort so far at 3,495 jobs stemmed from a statewide temporary summer work program, mostly for youths, which never intended to create full-time work for participants, said Peggy Torrey, the state Commerce Department's deputy secretary of work force. Only about one-fifth of those jobs became permanent.

So, they count temporary jobs as proof the stinulus is working, but the gain/loss of these positions are NOT reported in the DOL unemployment figures. Nice slight of hand there!

NonVet - I'm afraid you are right about the stock market preparing to crash again. I've been saying this for months, just like I warned people about the current and ongoing housing crisis about eight years ago. and your post shows signs you are actually beginning to listen to Pinto the Prophet - for the first time, you didn't blame a problem on the black president, indicating (with hope) you realize how racist you have been due to my pointing out your bigotry to you the last couple of days. thanks for being so politically correct and congratulations for showing that you might develop a mind of your own one day (and don't worry - contrary to what your historic belief system tells you, that's a good thing)

[deleted]... Rob... whoever you are this week,

You are one confused man. (Might want to seek some help with that)

Make up your mind! In one post you say discriminate and commit assault against anyone with opposing views that you consider "anti-American" and then in the next you defend the Quran for having a "loving", exclusively only for muslims, Islamic Allah. I hate to break it to you but, according to the Quran, unless you turn your back on the Christian faith and follow only Islam, Allah cannot be your god. If you did your research (as you claim to) then you would have uncovered the facts that:

1) Mohammad was driven by force from Mecca to Medina by his own people.

2) He promoted violence to capture and kill anyone who opposed him in dominating Arabia.

3) He wrote the Quran while in exile, alone and without witnesses to the devine.

4) He never performed a miracle (like healing, control over nature or such) witnessed by anyone.

5) He attributed values to the Christian God that were condemed by everyone except him.

6) Not one prophesy has ever come to pass except domination of the world.

7) Mohammad elevated himself above every prophet but never fit the biblical qualifications of a prophet (i.e. Moses, Elijah or Daniel).

8) They worship toward Mecca and the "shine" that has been the house of the Sumarian moon god (hense a moon as a symbol of their religion).

9) Mohammad created his own fictional bloodline back to Ishmael, son of Abram and Hagar (an Egyptian slave). This is hard to believe when he came from nomadic travelers of mixed bloodline that were not even the chosen people of God!

I don't know what you base your "new age" ideas on but Islam is not based on a loving, gracious and caring god. You cannot have it both ways.

For the record, the Bible predates by centuries the Quran and if you will look beyond the four gospels into the meat of the text, you will see we are living in a sinful world driven by sinful people who have demonic ideas. This is not my paranoia but facts. Let you in on a fact... the antichrist will be coming out of the region control today by muslims and the islamic faith.

In fact, if you were really a Christian, you would stand against homosexuals, pornography, abortion, fornication, murder, greed, sloth, and basically Obama. He is now setting the ground work to control the future economy, social and military of this country. Ever wonder why America is not mentioned in Revelation? Thats because we will be assemilated into another country.

In conclusion, I think you have the wrong idea about tolerance. It is in my opinion that you enjoy posting your thoughts but do not welcome any opposing views or facts that put you in a "bad light". In arrogance, you strike out at everyone who opposes your view. Unfortunately, you have made me out to be hateful old man because you redicule everything I say whether you can back it up with facts or not. I am not condeming you this time but I hope you will one day meet a true Islamic muslim and see how they do not befriend an infidel but lay in wait like a lion to devour the sheep. This generation has become soft. They push their views on posting boards but don't have the backbone to rally in Washington. Your prior quote summed it up. Our freedom will open us to destruction but our destruction (of values and morals) has already begun.

A report the other day from the DOD said that 2/3 of all our children are unfit to fight for our country because of obesity and lack of usaable skills (I guess beyond an x-box). While our country gets dumber, other countries are getting smarter. Krushev was right when he said "we will bury you (America)".
