Another example of liberal double standard hypocracy: in 2005 during a joint session speech, George Bush was booed, called a liar by Harry Reid. He refused to apologize and was not hhung in the rotunda for speaking out.
Now enter Joe Wilson. Even though he called the white house to apologize, and Pelosi said after the speech there would be no sanctions agains Wilson, now Pelosi IS in fact going to discipline him. If he does not say sorry before congress, he will be disciplined up to and including censure.
Maybe I would like a few congressmen to stand up and apologize to me, atarting with Rangel on tax evasion.
Where were the democrats when Reid disrupted a president's speech by calling him a liar? Pinto? Is it simply OK to break protocol, OR THE LAW if you are a liberal?? Don't bother, I already know the answer.

On the other hand, if the czars have no actual power, then I am equally concerned that taxpayers are fronting the bill for the salaries of these figureheads and their staff."

That speech was smooth indeed. Obama is a fine reader. Actually some of what he said I do believe would benefit everyone.The problem I have is that every time the question pops up as to how this bill will be funded, Obama gives some squirrely answer. There are several issues about his speech that I take issue with. There is also an issue that is of concern and that is all the people he surrounds himself with. I'm not sure if he is in bed with these nuts or he actually rebukes them, or just gets rid of them in an attempt to distance them to solidify a second term. The real truth is that if Obama attains a second term, I believe you'll see a return of these radicals.

NamVet...well said! I read an article on a professor who taught his college class why socialism can't work. He told the class every student would receive the same grade. He would base it on an average of all grades. The first test 3/4 the class worked hard and 1/4 didn't. They all got a B. The second test 1/2 the class tried and 1/2 didn't. They all got a C. Eventually the whole class failed. The hard workers got tired of doing all the work for the same reward as the ones who didn't try. Sounds kind of like Obama's "spreading the wealth around" logic. I know that we as a country had better wake the hell up and start taking what is going on serious. This country is on a path to destruction. All one has to do is spend some time reading and watching what is going on. We have a national debt that can not be paid off and the US Dollar could collapse at anytime. It almost did last fall. The value of the dollar is sinking, gold is going up and the rest of the world is asking for something other than the dollar in the IMF due to our uncontrolled debt. We are printing money and inflation is not far behind. Taxes are going to go thru the roof as Jasper even upped property taxes for starters. Cap and Trade will tax the hell out of energy and the lack of oil drilling will soon send gasoline to all time highs. This notion we can afford a national health care program is utter nonsense!! Social Security is insolvent..Freddie Mac and Fannie May are insolvent, FDIC is insolvent..the post office is insolvent and I could go on. Yet all we do is laugh it up and say things that are beyond stupid...indeed insane. I guess people think these things are not serious and it is cute to poke fun at it. In the not to distant future people will be even worse off than they are today. No jobs, inflation, no home to live in and no hope. You can't tax your way to prosperity as some of us know... oh well.

Jeep, we were just discussing Michelle's staff here last night during the speech, where she appeared to look really angry about something. I remember the crap Laura Bush took for hiring 2 assistants. This lady has 22 and nobody cares? What was that about Sarah Palin's wardrobe? They sure let her have it over her attire!Progressives are famous for their double standards: look at Charlie Rangle and his year-long tax evasion investigation. $600,000 unreported wealth. (Oops, I forgot about my house in D.R.) and not only keeps his job, but keeps his comittee chair!
I don't know how much more it will take for people to see the hyprocracy that this set lives by and that seems to be in their DNA anymore.

Chooch, you are right: if 2 police officers accept bribes shame on them. If dozens of FBI agents, across 13 states get busted taking bribes we have a leadership problem. Would you agree? Acorn "employees" have been caught and convicted of voter crimes all over the country. The group is under investigation for fraud in at least 13 states! And we keep hearing the same tired excuses: that these cases are all independant and unrelated.

So I do NOT understand why the write up in the paper about giving chipa a hard time about a festival. What is this mayors problem?
I am sorry but I know chipa personally and the mayor personally, and for the betterment of the community, (to me), it is nice to have festivals to attend,mingle, and network. Not to mention , it gives the local population something to do or look forward to in this bleak time of the country.

The number I posted was an "official tally of the death toll" the government has posted and yes the number can be higher by 1800 or another 4000 (who knows... they are unaccounted for). Might even be Jimmy Hoffa in there somewhere??
Rob, I split hairs on the number because you do the same to others. You also have the freedom of speech but the way you and others on here "debate" is nothing more than a "throw insult, get returned insult, get mad, and repeat with more insults". For example... when someone says "The US instigated Japan to war"... a true debator would say "I believe you are mistaken" and then present a reasonable claim of different facts. A debator would never write "you idiot da da da". This is a baited argument that leads to more insults not a true exchange of thoughts between individuals.
With that said, if you differ about the instigation of Japan to bomb Pearl Harbor or the cause of the Korean war...please present a reasonable case for your opinion and I will listen.
BTW My offer of a milkshake was a sincere offer as I don't drink anymore. The DQ is an excellant establishment and the owners are courteous.

Yesterday afternoon I was pulling out of FRED'S, about that time 2 police cars came screaming by in the the turning lane. FLYING rediculiously fast!! Its such a bad place too toward town it is a blind curve and hill. There they were risking everyone elses life to get there maybe 1 minute sooner!! Pathetic!!
Saw our former sheriff yesterday, I think hes loving retirement. He looked like SANTA. Good for u Billy :)

Looks like Michelle Obama likes to spend the tax money as well as her husband. She requires a staff of 22 people with a combined salary of 1.6 million a year (paid by taxpayers). Ms. Bush was criticized for spending $561,000 on her staff. Why would the presidents wife require 22 personal employees?
