How is chooch letting people pay his way??? He served his time in the military and now recieves a retirement pay? How can you compare that to unemployed or people who don't want to work a job because it is below them? For a so called nam vet you sure have some screwed up views of retirement. Chooch gave more than just time to this country, he also gave the right to live a nice life pain free. What have you done for us Namvet, other than run your mouth and give us someone to laugh at?

I don't expect anything else from the progressives (Old Gerd, Pinto, and the others who surface from time to time with renewed attacks) than Saul Alinsky's 13th "rule for Radicals":
“The thirteenth rule: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Explaining just how far progressives must be willing to go to marginalize their “enemies” Alinsky explains a few pages later:
"Many liberals during our attack on the then-school superintendent, were pointing out that after all he wasn’t a 100 percent devil, he was a regular churchgoer, he was a good family man, and he was generous in his contributions to charity. Can you imagine in the arena of conflict charging that so-and-so is a racist bastard but then diluting the impact of the attack with qualifying remarks such as, “He is a good churchgoing man, generous to charity and a good husband”? This becomes political idiocy."
It's the same old tactic. Conservatives are racists, "go to hell", etc. We just all should become aware of this radical mindset and react accodingly.

Jeep-you are right. They just change the name. Progressivism is the new socialism.
The AP reported yesterday that the administration is thinking we should accept 10% unemployment as the new norm. The auto industry has long been used as the litmus test by the labor department to show changes in the employment situation but they are now run by Obama and the socialists. Only a real progressive from the Alinsky school of social justice would make a blanket statement that all people who can't find work during the worst economic times in 30 years are LAZY. It is true some folks do get lucky. Personally, I have interviewed 7 times since last November. Most recently I was up against 300 people who the Maintenance Superintendant of Publix chose to interview, then whittled that number down to 7. I was one of 7 guys- all the cream of the crop in the maintenance industry, interviewing for 1 position. There are just too many of us out there. If one believes that the economy is just fine because there are a few 6 dollar an hour jobs out there, that person is blind as a bat, or trying to mislead. Again, in my own defense I have indeed applied, in person, to every grocery store to bag groceries among things. Is it a sign that the economy is just fine, (praise Obama) if a highly skilled and experienced electomechanical technician, movie special effects inventor, project manager gets work bagging groceries? The socialists say AMEN to that! Of course the truth is a year ago the economy had many more $40 an hour workers participating in the market. 10% of those guys are now earning nothing or minimum wage. What is the impact? Millions more now pay less taxes (attention liberals!) and spend less money on things they want or need. Sooooo, guess what? Taxes go up. Millage rates increase so the gov. can flat line revenue and increase their budgets!
The moral is, kids, the rosy picture painted by the progressives is simply a load of BS to get us to go back to sleep, and convince you that people like me are lazy. I would define lazy as someone who goes on the public dole while refusing to work. I don't take government money. In fact I just remodeled a house out of state for 3 weeks. The owner is a conservative and refuses to hire illegals.

Unemployment. Quite a subject. Here's some news for all the lazy, worthless people crying about unemployment and not being able to find a job. My son and his family moved here a week ago Saturday. Both my son and his wife have found employment right here in Jasper in exactly one week. The problem with the whiners is that they either have no skills or they will not do the work that is available to them. They think they are "special" and can only work in a field or job they WANT to do, not what they are qualified to do or are available. It's a lot easier to blame the state of the economy for unemployment than to admit they are simply useless to society and NOT WILLING to actually work as long as they can collect unemployment. Bunch of losers. Only losers can't find a job if they really want to work. The same people that cry about illegal aliens taking all the jobs. Most of the jobs that the "illegals" supposedly take are labor intensive, like all forms of construction. The type of jobs that people that make noise about unemployment would never take. They would not take them because it would actually require "working" and not standing around with a cup of coffee in one's hand.

Thanks for the quote. I performed a fact check and went to Snopes, and you’re right- “Go To Hell” is a legitimate quote. Great work on uncovering that for us. In response I will say, “you first”. Fact-check that one.
As for the Korean War, I guess we must go back to that every time you get your panties in a wad. My father was there too. Served as a grunt in the infantry. He turned out to be a lot less bitter, angry and petty as you are. You have an axe to grind, for some reason and have turned your anger against your country. That is a shame, but you’re not the only one. There are a few other vets out there, though not quite your age, who have turned their backs on the constitution and turned socialist on us. I pray for you men with lost souls. Oh by the way I did try dog once. Can’t say I liked it but you do what you have to do.
The truth is, Old Schlub, nobody, least of all me can EVER convince you of anything concerning the Korean conflict. You have stewed over your convictions for what, 55 years or so? It is too late for you. All I can do is try to save people (WHO CAN STILL REASON) from turning on our country and allowing the Obama’s to turn them on to socialism. You gave up on us long ago, and you will ultimately answer to that, but not to me.

Well kids, the senate finance committee filed its version of health care yesterday.
"The Senate Finance Committee filed its sweeping health care reform bill Monday and its release served largely to highlight the divisions among Democrats over the direction of reform.
The massive, 1,500 page bill is expected to serve as the backbone for Democratic reform efforts going forward and five senators expressed concerns about one of its main provisions, a 40 percent tax on high-end insurance plans.
The tax is designed to pay for reform and lower costs by making the so-called Cadillac plans less attractive for insurers to offer. Under the bill, a plan that costs an individual more than $8,000 and a family more than $21,000 annually would be subject to the tax.
But Democratic Sens. John Kerry, Chuck Schumer, Robert Menendez, Debbie Stabenow and Jay Rockefeller are concerned that the threshold that defines a Cadillac plan is too low and will whack middle-class people."
For all the people who must own crystal balls out there, read again that the bill was filed yesterday, Monday 10/19. Here is the link, if anyone is interested: http://finance.senate.gov/press/Bpress/2009press/prb101909.pdf
This is referred to as the "Finance bill"... (S. 1796) and it's 1500 pages long. Note above some of the scorn this bill is getting on the basis of alllllll the new taxes this thing levies.
First, with the so-called "doc fix" bill S. 1776, The Obama administration is trying to add $247 billion in deficit health care spending one week, and then turn around and claim their health care plan is deficit neutral the next. Nice trick. This way the CBO score will be separate from the health care bill.
Meanwhile, back at the barn, Rahm Emanuel's covert team of democrats secretly negotiate the terms of the next monster spending bill for government takeover of health care. This after Obama promised us that these negotiations would be transparent, and broadcast on CSPAN. Quote: "To achieve health care reform, “I’m going to have all the negotiations around a big table. We’ll have doctors and nurses and hospital administrators. Insurance companies, drug companies — they’ll get a seat at the table, they just won’t be able to buy every chair. But what we will do is, we’ll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies. And so, that approach, I think is what is going to allow people to stay involved in this process.”
Every one of us, including the liberals, should be outraged by this.
