Mrs. Frances Kelley Cheshire, age 74 of Ball Ground, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Kennestone Hospital.
Mrs. Cheshire was a member of Sharp Mountain Baptist Church. She was the co-founder and retired bookkeeper of Cheshire Heating and Air.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Cheshire, Ball Ground; children, Brian (Valerie) Cheshire, Ball Ground, Barry (Sondra) Cheshire, Jasper, and Becky (Doug) Dabbs of Ball Ground; siblings, Louise Howell, Sylvia Byers, Charlotte Lunsford, Peggy Pearson, all of Ball Ground, Ed Kelley, Hiawassee, Paul Kelley, Johns Creek, and Ricky Kelley, Ball Ground; grandchildren, Kristin Turner, Joey and Jamie Cheshire and Corey and Olivia Dabbs; and great-grandchildren, Mackenize and, Maverick Turner and Emma Cheshire.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. at Sharp Mountain Baptist Church with the Revs. Greg Hamilton, Shannon Kelley and Phillip Burt officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sharp Mountain Baptist Church or Cure It For Kids in memory of Abigail Kelley. Sosebee Funeral Home, Canton, was honored to serve the family.
Frank Jr. Noland
Mr. Frank Jr. Noland, age 82 of Talking Rock, Ga., died Friday, July 12, 2013, at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born May 14, 1931, in Murray County, he was the son of the late Frank and Lillie Bell Noland. Mr. Noland had worked as a truck driver with the Pickens County Road Department and was a member of the Black Knob Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lillian Noland, Talking Rock, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Reed Dillard and Brenda Ponder Nunley and Grady Nunley, all of Talking Rock, Ga., Cathy Moss and Lee Sarrell, Jasper, Ga., and Sue and Clifford Maney, Talking Rock, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Jean Noland, Jasper, Ga., and Dennis and Donna Noland, Talking Rock, Ga.; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Schook, Fairmount, Ga.; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Evelyn Noland, Acworth, Ga., and Leonard and Elizabeth Noland, White, Ga. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 15, at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Philemon Davis and Carl Rogers officiating. Interment followed in Lake Forest Memorial Park.
Faye Medlin Peltier of Perry, Fl., passed over and joined her husband Gene to be with God on July 12, 2013.
Faye was 91 years old and was born Feb. 1, 1922, to Buren and Lemmer Bennett Medlin in Fairmount, Ga. She was a faithful and devoted member of Southside Baptist Church, Perry, Fl.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Peltier, who left her on Jan. 17, 2013. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Doyle, Starlin and Loye Hayes Medlin; and sisters, Lona Mae Thomas and Marie Underwood. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A memorial services will be held July 27 at 11 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Gary French officiating.
Mrs. Tracy Lynn Allen, age 47 of Woodstock, Ga., died Friday, July 5, 2013, at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Charles J. Allen, Woodstock; son, Charles “CJ” Allen, Byron; daughters, Victoria Renee and Katherine Elizabeth Allen, Woodstock; parents, Jerry and Martha Birdwell, Byron; and sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis Renee and David Burton, Greenville, S.C. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
A memorial service was held at 12 p.m. Friday, July 12, at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kris Stancil officiating. Entombment followed at 2 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga.
Ruth Payne, wife of the late Bill Payne of Marble Hill, passed away May 2, 2013. A celebration of their lives will be held at their home on July 20.

Mrs. Lorene McFarland, age 88 of Pensacola, Fl., formerly of Jasper, entered into rest on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at West Florida Regional Hospital
She is survived by her son, Ronald Jones, Ball Ground; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and J. D. Pendley, Pensacola; and sisters, Joyce Pinyan and Evelyn Jordan, both of Ball Ground. Mrs. McFarland had four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Weaver officiating. Interment followed at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were: Shane Pendley, Gordon Hillegas, Clint Chambers, Scott and Matthew Fowler and Gerald Tippens. Honorary pallbearer was Brandon Fowler. The family accepted flowers or donations to The Diabetic Association and The American Heart Association. Cagle Funeral Home was honored to serve the McFarland Family.
James Pickett, Jr.
In loving memory of Mr. James Myron Pickett, Jr., age 74 of Jasper, who entered into rest on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Pickett, Jasper; mother-in-law, Zella Palmer, Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, James and Robin Pickett, Jasper; daughter, Lori Pickett, Jasper; sister, Patricia Morey, Puerto Rico; nieces and husbands, Rebecca Kamp and Glenn Pollice and family, Jasper, and Kimberly and Marty Salerno, Waterloo, N.Y. Two grandchildren, Zoe and James Pickett also survive.
