Angela Taylor Burgess, age 43 of Jasper, Ga., passed Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.
She is survived by her daughter, Victoria “Torrie” Taylor; and Torrie’s father, Siegi Taylor; mother, Cherie Dobbs Martin; special family friend, Freddy Brackett; sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and Lonnie Fountain; niece and nephew, Ansley and David Bruce; brother, Nick Martin; dear special friends, Ted and Mary McConnell; and aunt and uncles, Lila and Charles Padgett, Clermont, Fl., Roy Dobbs, Jasper, and Fred and Steve Dobbs, Rome, Ga. A host of family and friends also survive.
Angela was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Tyrone Baker, Atlanta, Ga; grandparents, Ralph and Ruth Baker and Hazel Gilreath Dobbs; and great-grandparents, Lora and Herman Gilreath, Dawson County.
Angela operated Appalachian Memories Florist in Jasper for many years and had an amazing talent for giving to others. Her beautiful flower arrangements have touched many families in our community. Her greatest talent was sharing. She loved to share by giving of her time at the Lyons Gate Mortuary and she loved sharing at Jasper Elementary Spook House where she and special friend Jean Noland always gave the kids a good scare, all in fun as they raised money for the school. Angela was currently employed at Lowe’s in Ellijay and Subway in Ball Ground.
Angela opened her home to the community for years as she welcomed visitors to her Christmas Home filled with over 40 trees and special decorations. Over 400 people toured the home each weekend and many returned with special decorations for her to add to this beautiful gift to others.
Born on Christmas Eve 1969, Angela had a special love for the holiday and angels. She joined her mother as co-host of North Georgia Now Today and enjoyed meeting folks through television. Today she joins her family in Heaven and will be watching over those left behind.

Mrs. Eva Elizabeth Yother, age 52 of Jasper, Ga., died on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in Jasper.
Born Sunday, Feb. 7, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Hoyt Dean and Bessie Lee Wigington Bagwell of Marble Hill, Ga. She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Lee Yother, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Ricky Yother, Jasper; daughter and friend, Julia Reece and Thomas Crane, Cleveland, Ga.; brothers, Billy and Johnny Bagwell, both of Marble Hill, Ga., and Jason and Sandy Bagwell, Fairmount, Ga.; sisters, Jenny and Cecil McBee, Canton, Ga., and Betty and William Hollifield, Ball Ground, Ga.; uncle, Hubert Bagwell, Jasper; and grandchildren, Kari, Jacob, Nickole, Kolbee, Rylee, Kaylee-Grace and Kole Reese, Cleveland, Ga. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30, at Roper Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with the Rev. Joey Watson officiating.
Mrs. Eunice Romine, age 98 of Jasper, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Heritage Health Care in Jasper.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Lamar Carver, Jasper; grandchildren and spouses, Sandy and Bill Jordan and Stephanie and Jamie Boling, all of Jasper; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Taylor and Reagan; and nieces, Barbara Hall, Calhoun, and Peggy Allen, Florida.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Minister Kasey Kuyper officiating Interment followed at Bethel Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Bill Jordan, Jamie Boling, Mike Boswell, Jerry Allen, Jordan Farmer and John Sachau.
Mrs. Mildred Hancock, age 69 of Henderson Mountain Road, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2013, at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis Hancock; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Melinda Hancock Jasper; daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth Hancock and Angel and Santiago Gonzalez, all of Henderson Mountain Road; brothers, Ed and J.L. Young, both of Talking Rock, James Young, Fairmount, and Nathan Young, Calhoun; sisters, Arlene Hamrick, Talking Rock, and Jeanette Stone and Frances Watson, both of Calhoun; and grandchildren, Kayla and Allen Patterson and Wendy Watkins. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Bobby Segars and Buddy Roper officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ray Young, Johnny Burton, Mitchell Hales, Stanley Mulkey, Raymond Young and Jody Clark. The family did accept flowers but prefer donations to Cagle Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses.
Geneva Evans, age 89 of Jasper, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Rock Creek Manor Assisted Living.
She was the daughter of the late Anderson L. and Eula P. Pettitt and was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne V. Evans, Sr.
Mrs. Evans was a member of the Jasper Lions Club, a charter member of the Jasper Lioness Club and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pickens Star Lodge. She was a member of Jasper First Baptist Church and active in the Fidelius Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Solomon, Marietta, Ga.; son, Vince Evans, Jasper; grandsons and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kathy Solomon, Acworth, Ga., Kevin Solomon, Acworth, Ga., and John Christian Evans, Rome, Ga.; granddaughter, Saralynne Evans, Jasper; and great-granddaughter, Kaila Solomon, Acworth, Ga.
The funeral service will be held at Jasper First Baptist Church on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. with Dr. Jimmy Lewis and the Rev. David Stuart officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will be in Jasper City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jasper City Cemetery Fund. Roper Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of arrangements.
