Rev. Dural Allred
    Rev. Dural Wayne Allred, age 72 of Cartersville, Ga., passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at his residence.
    Survivors include his wife, Linda Allred, Cartersville; son, Michael (Lisa) Allred, Cartersville; daughter, Laura Farris, Cartersville; and sister, Anna (Gene) Liles, Winston. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, from Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Childers and Wallace Cochran officiating. Interment followed at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. South Canton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Allene Hatch
    Allene Hatch, age 84 of Ball Ground, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
    Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jimmie Hatch, Ball Ground; and sisters, Margaret Stancil, Jane Wehunt and Willie Grace Bannister, all of Ball Ground. Five grandchildren and one great- grandchild also survives.
    The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, from Darby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Hyatt officiating. Interment followed in Mica Baptist Church Cemetery.  

Rebecca Berry
    Rebecca Ann Berry, daughter of Homer and Vera Gresham, passed away peacefully at her home in Bent Tree near Jasper, Ga., on Nov. 21, 2012. 
    Rebecca was born on March 25, 1938, and is survived by her husband of 56 years, Leonard Eugene Berry, and their three sons, Steven and his wife Cindy of Murrayville, Ga., Dean and his wife Dawn of Ardmore, Al., and John and his wife Melanie of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Wayne Gresham and his wife Charlotte of Cleveland, Ga. Rebecca was a loving mother to her children and devoted to her beloved eight grandchildren, Megan, Richard, Aubrey, Heath, Jorden, Malachi, Zachary and Austin. 
    She always put her family first in everything. She loved and supported her husband through two long careers: one in the U.S. Air Force and another at Georgia State University. She made homes and raised her children with her husband in Japan, England and several states across the US. After her children left for college she returned to complete her own college education at Georgia State University, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Accounting. She worked as an accountant for two companies in Atlanta and retired in 1991. 
    She was a committed and humble volunteer both at her church and at food pantries in Atlanta and Jasper. Knowing others would not want to do many of the menial and unglamorous tasks needed to provide food to needy families, with a glad heart she would be the first to volunteer to perform them.
    A memorial service was held for Rebecca at New Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 389 Bent Tree Dr., on Nov. 25 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to CARES (Pickens County Food Pantry), P.O. Box 1342, Jasper, Ga. 30143. Arrangement entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory, Jasper.

N. Brent Mosley
    Mr. N. Brent Mosley, age 84 of Ellijay, Ga., passed on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, from his residence. 
    He was a member of the Whitestone Baptist Church, the Ellijay Lions Club and Gilmer Quarterback Club. He was a Pickens High School graduate, Class of 1945. After graduation he served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp. In 1948 he and his brother, Robert Mosley, founded The Mosley Tractor and Supply, which still operates today in Whitestone, Ga.
    Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Jimmy Nichols, Blue Ridge, Ga.; sons and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sharon H. Mosley, Ellijay, and Jonathan H. Mosley, Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren and in-laws, Brent and Jenny Mosley, Washington, D.C., Nate Mosley, Augusta, Ga., Luke Mosley, Nashville, Tn., Mel Mosley, Ellijay, Millie Burger and Wyatt Nichols, both of Blue Ridge, Ga. Also surviving are sister, Linda Mosley Coleman, Whitestone; brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry Mosley, Mont Eagle, Tn., Jack and Joni Mosley, Macon, Ga., Winnie Hensley Mosley, Ellijay, and Janice Garland Mosley, Whitestone.
    The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Milton Perry and the Rev. Larry Reece officiating. Military Honors followed in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with Military Rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard.  Interment followed in the Ellijay City Cemetery.  Pallbearers were: nephews, Mitch Coleman, Garry Mosley, Brad Coleman, Todd Coleman, Rendley Norris and Bob Mosley. Flowers are were accepted or donations may be made to the United Hospice of Blue Ridge, 6050 Appalachian Highway, Blue Ridge, Ga.

William Mullinax
    William “Bill” H. Mullinax, age 78 of Kennesaw, passed on Nov. 23, 2012.
    Mr. Mullinax worked for many years with the Jasper Lumber Company as a forklift operator.
    He is survived by his sons, Ricky (Patricia) Mullinax, Ronnie Mullinax and Richie (Christine) Mullinax; sisters, Mildred Stone and Georgia Lee Silvers; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Mullinax. Six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
    The funeral service was held Sunday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. Bill was laid to rest following the service at Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw.  The family received friends on Saturday at the funeral home.

Linda Ingram
    Mrs. Linda Hollifield Ingram of Ball Ground passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
    Survivors include her husband, Larry Ingram, Ball Ground; children, Jason and Becky Ingram, Julie Ingram and Josh Ingram, all of Ball Ground; brother, David Hollifield, Jasper; sister Barbara Duncan, Jasper; grandchildren, Kasi Jeans, Andrew Ingram, Emma Venable, Elyssa Ingram, Eli Holden; and great-grandchild, Brayden Jeans.
    The funeral service was held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home.

Nita Fore
    Juanita Loraine “Nita” Fore died Saturday, Nov. 24, at her home in Bent Tree Community.
    Born and raised in St Louis, Mo., she finished high school there, worked for 6 years as Special Assistant to the president of Dairy Queen Corp. When Dairy Queen moved its headquarters, she went to work for Hilton Hotels in St Louis, first as sales representative, then as manager of The Airport Hilton. In 1967 she was promoted as the first female National Sales Manager for Hilton and moved her office to Atlanta where she worked until retirement in 1997. Her long and distinguished career held many firsts: the first female member of the Executive Committee of Hotel Sales Management Assn. Intl, a 17,000 member organization for sales and marketing executives in the hospitality industry; first female to receive the Coveted Certified Hotels Sales Executive; first female International President of the Association; and the first elected to the Hall of Fame.
    In addition to HSMAI, she was active in Zonta, Atlanta Women’s Club, and was a charter member of Atlanta Chapter Meeting Planners IntI.
    Nita met her husband, Joseph Fore, in 1980; they were married in 1982. They traveled extensively; both professionally and for vacation, and retired to the Bent Tree Community in 1996.
    Nita was very active in Pickens and Bent Tree, serving as a volunteer with Good Samaritan Health Center, chaired the Hospitality and Tourism Committee for the Commissioner’s Advisory Council in 2002 to 2004, editor of the Bent Tree echo newspaper and served on the Board of Directors, serving as President of the Board in 2002.
    Nita and Joe have four daughters and sons-in-law, Sunny and J.R. Winfield, Cumming Ga., Pamela “Penny” and Jack Deal, Griffin, Ga., Laura and Thomas Jewett, Mascoutah Il., and Rebecca and Dave Hayes, Canton, Ga.; and brother, Eugene Troster. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
    A Service of Thanksgiving was held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 11 a.m. at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Family with the Rev. George Yandell officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests remembrances to Good Samaritan Wellness Center or to the Myesthenia Gravis Roper Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Wesley Jordan
    Mr. Wesley Hamby Jordan, age 35 of Jasper, passed away Thursday at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
    Survivors include his wife, Misty Stone Jordan, Jasper; son, Conner Jordan, Jasper; parents, Joe and Karen Jordan, Ball Ground; father- and mother-in-law, Glenn and Kathy Stone, Talking Rock,; grandmother, Rena Mae Jordan, Ball Ground; grandparents-in-law, Claudine Walker and Billy and Haley Ballew, all of Talking Rock. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edgar Jordan; grandparents, Paul and Bessie Hamby; and grandparents-in-law, Luther Walker and Homer Glenn Stone.
    The funeral service was held 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at the Trinity Tabernacle with the Revs. Charlie Buchanan, Ken Horton and Richard Kitchens officiating. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family did accept flowers or those who desire may make donations to the Conner Jordan Education Fund at Community Bank of Pickens County.

Larry Brady
    Mr. Larry Franklin Brady, age 65 of Jasper, passed away Saturday at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
    Survivors include his wife, Linda Brady, Jasper; son and  daughter- in- law, Chris and Sarah Brady, Jasper; mother-in-law, Margie Buchanan, Jasper; brother- and sister-in-law, David and Kristi Buchanan, Jasper; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jack and MaryLou Woody, Rio, Joyce Pilkington and Wanda Disharoon, both of Jasper, Larry and Kathy Teague, Ellijay, and Jack and Betty West, Jasper; and brothers, Gary and Terry Brady, Jasper.
    A prayer service was held on Sunday evening at 7 in the Roper Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Mitton officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Good Samaritan Health & Wellness Center, 175 Samaritan Drive, Jasper, Ga. 30143

Bill Howell
    Mr. Bill Howell, age 52 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
    Survivors include his son, Damon Howell, Jasper; and father, Donald Howell, Ball Ground.
    The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with the Rev. Butch Roberts officiating.

    A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Dr. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be performed by Pickens Star Lodge #220 F&AM. The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the service hour.

Pauline Solomon
    Mrs. Pauline Solomon, age 96 of Jasper, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Grandview Health Care Center.
    Survivors include her nephews, Lamar, Richard and Bobby; nieces, Barbara Sue and Mary, Robert, Randy and Tracee. Other great-nieces and nephews, several great-great-nieces and nephews also survive.
    The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Clyde Boling and Johnny Padgett officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were: Randy and Robert Elliott, Kenneth and Buren Howell, Franklin Jordan and Richard Bartholomew. Honorary pallbearers were: David Solomon, Edwin Milford, Billy Coletrane, Kenneth and Randy Jordan and Lamar Holcomb. The family did accept flowers or to make donations to Diabetic Research.

Donnie Eubanks
    Mrs. Donnie Bell Eubanks, age 90 of Nelson, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Canton Nursing Center.
    She was a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years, a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and married to Clifford Eubanks for 62 years.
    Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Alvin Lamar and Esther Eubanks, Paulding County; daughters and  sons-in-law, Patricia and James Queen, Jasper, and Debbie and Herman Hollingshead, Jasper; son-in-law, Charles Jenkins, Jasper; and brothers, Charles Hammontree, Ball Ground, Harold Hammontree, Ellijay, and Mack Hammontree,f Florida. Thirteen grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Eubanks was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Eubanks; daughter, Gail Jenkins; and grandsons, Barry Kent, Donovan Eubanks and twin baby boys Jenkins.
    The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Bethesda Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Chester, James Rich and Wayne Long officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Herman Hollingshead, Sr., Tommy Jenkins, Allen Timms, James Edward Queen, Johnny Parton and Gene Chapman. The family did accept flowers but prefer donations to Cagle Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

Roy Thomason
    Mr. Roy Baxter Thomason, age 84 of Talking Rock, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.
    Born on August 14, 1928, in Jasper, Ga., to the late Arthur Lee Thomason and Lela Townsend Thomason, Mr. Thomason worked for himself in the septic tank business. Mr. Thomason was also a member of County Line Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Ingram Thomason; son, Andy Thomason; daughter and son-in-law, Andra and Shane Callahan; brother and sister-in-law, John and Corene Thomason; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sara Lee and George O’Shields, Jean and Carl Junior Stancil and Brenda and Bobby Quick; brother-in-law, Leon Free; grandchildren, Natasha and Jeffery Currie and Jessica and Cynthia Childers; and great-grandchildren, Skyler and Evan Currie. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Thomason was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Free; and great-grandchild, Tyler Currie.
    The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, from County Line Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Banks and Jess Posey officiating. Interment followed at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery. Roper Funeral Home in Jasper in charge of arrangements.

Alice Gabriel
    Mrs. Alice Prasek Gabriel, age 84 of Jasper, Ga., died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper..
    Born Nov. 9, 1928, in Cleveland, Oh., she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Prasek. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Tate United Methodist Church.
    Survivors include her husband, Milton Gabriel, Jasper; daughters, Nancy Sullivan Fish, Altoona, Fl., and  Carol Gabriel Tholen (Rudy), Benton, Tn.; grandchildren, Damon, Corey and Brennan Fish, Rachel Marie Cangemi and Christopher Monroe Hatfield; and great-grandchild, Weston Monroe Hatfield.
    A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga., with the Rev. Louise Elmore officiating. The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home from 10-11:45 a.m. on Thursday morning. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tate United Methodist Church, 5880 Highway 53 E, Tate, Ga.  30177.
