According to Sole Commissioner Rob Jones, he was in no way involved with his brother-in-law’s company winning the bid for the Monument Road Fire Station, now in final stages of construction. “I stayed out of the process because I knew something like this would come up,” Jones said. “I even left the room when the bids were opened...And it really doesn’t surprise me. [My brother-in-law] told me he was going to go for the project, and I said that was fine, but I didn’t have any influence on how those bids were handled.
