PHS Drama students rehearse “Wizard of Oz.”

The spring musical is one of the highlights of the year for the talented actors, dancers, and singers in the Pickens High School Theater department. This year the family favorite, “Wizard of Oz” will be presented at 7 p.m. on April 19, 20, and 21 at the PHS Performing Arts Center.

Directed by Valerie Boehm and Kelley Wilson with choreography by Clarissa Curtis and production design by Ross Galbreath and Jamie Makool, the PHS version will closely follow the original MGM film

production from 1939.

The drama students have been working hard with lots of after school rehearsals. Students from Pickens Elementary schools will be joining the PHS actors playing the part of munchkins. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this wonderful musical from the award winning members of PHS drama, who are back to back region champions. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students, and five and under are free.
