Spring-Equinox-2017

Eagle’s Rest Park, Mt Oglethorpe …The birds are also coming to the Spring Equinox event set for Sunday, March 19,  at 2 p.m.

The Big Canoe Hiking Club is hosting the event for hikers and the general public.

Five wonderful birds will join the spring event.  Beth Thomsom, a licensed bird educator, with assistance from five volunteers, will present the following birds to the public:  Red-tailed Hawk, the Great Horned Owl, Barred Owl, a Barn Owl and a Screech Owl.  The birds will be greeting everyone starting at 1:30 p.m.

Bert Loftman will give an introductory presentation on Bird Watching on the Western Viewing Deck, prior to the Big Canoe Hiking event in the park.

The public is encouraged to bring canned goods for CARES of Pickens County to distribute to the needy of Pickens County.  You can drop off your donation near the park’s kiosk.

Come to the mountain to renew your mind, body and spirit.
