County considers another budget increase

Proposed budget to be presented at next work session
commissioners

Pickens County Commissioners Rob Jones, Becky Denney and Jerry Barnes during a recent millage rate hearing.
Following heated public outcry last month when commissioners raised the millage rate to fund their 2016 budget, hearings last week to discuss the 2017 budget indicate commissioners may raise the county’s budget by $1.5 million next year.
For three days last week, commissioners heard requests from county department heads for 2017. According to Faye Harvey, the county’s chief financial officer, the proposed 2017 budget is $25,375,000, a 6.5 percent increase over the approved 2016 budget of $23,824,000.

OK, for you less-educated people that comprise our local government (and national too, probably) the following comment is backed by my First Amendment Rights under the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Georgia, while they both still exist that is (Perhaps you've heard of these two documents): For the good of the people, please, and I beg you, please, get the hell out of here! Just drop whatever you're doing, resign, and leave your job for someone else. Without going into specific bad acts and decisions you've all made recently, you clearly show no respect or concern for the people in this community that pay your enormous salaries. You're all a part of a good-ol'-boy (and gal) system that's existed here for far too long. What's worse is that the general public doesn't care and will not get off their ass to vote you idiot, crooks out of office. Most people only care about what Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, the Kardashians (whoever the flip these skanks are), and all other mediocre celebrities are doing. PEOPLE, stand up! let's vote every incumbent - judge's, all city/county leaders, commissioners, mayor, EVERYONE, out! God bless what's left of this once-great nation. It's fading fast. Faster when you consider whatever idiot wins the presidential election. "Vote Quimby."
