Terrapins vs. Ducks at city park

         A pair of terrapins swim together as a duck passes by. Terrapins at the Jasper City Park pond range in size from small to large, and can been seen at times basking on the bank.

     They seem so unassuming. Their tiny heads poke out of the brackish pond water at Jasper City Park before they glide below the surface. Webbed turtle feet flip delicately to move them along.
    But these endearing chelonian are prime suspects for  injuries being reported to the goose and ducks at the pond, according to Jasper’s Animal Control Officer Lonnie Waters.
