“Jasper’s Most Talented” Contest to Return to the Independence Day Festivities

 Lions-TalentApp 2016

As part of their 2016 Independence Day celebration, the Jasper Lions Club is happy to announce the return of the “Jasper’s Most Talented” contest, to be held at the bandstand at Lee Newton Park.  Participants may be individuals or groups, and may present any kind of family-oriented performance – singing, dancing, comedy,

magic —  even pet tricks!  There is no entry fee.  Performances will be limited to three (3) minutes each for the preliminary round, which will be held on Friday, July 1st at 6:30pm, and five (5) minutes each for the final round, to be held on Saturday, July 2nd beginning at 7:00pm. A panel of judges will choose which contestants advance to the final round, but the audience will pick the ultimate winner. The audience votes with donations for their favorite in each category. One quarter equals one vote, therefore a dollar is four votes, and so on.  Checks will be accepted, and should be made payable to the Jasper Lions Club. The winning acts will be announced and allowed to perform on Monday night, July 4th at 8:30pm, during the band’s break, after which the $300 prizes will be awarded.  Sound system will be available at the park.  Entrants must provide accompaniment on CD or iPod no later than 6:00pm each night.
Get your acts together - deadline for application is Thursday, June 30!  Application is included in this article, or can be downloaded from Jasper Lions Club's Facebook page, Remember, this is a fundraiser for Jasper Lions Club’s local projects, such as Fill-a-Stocking, Benevolence Program, Health Fair, and eye exams/eyeglasses.
