O’ doggie, where art thou?

“If I could get them back I would cry a big puddle right here on the floor,” said former inmate whose dogs were taken

Allen Peardon wants his dogs back. Buddy and Ching Ching are pictured above.

What happens to pets when owners are put in jail? One Pickens resident had two dogs, Buddy and Ching Ching, taken by animal control when he was incarcerated. A neighbor complained about dogs running loose and the shelter picked them up like they would any other stray. The Pickens County Animal Shelter director said they are willing to work with pet owners in these cases, but they need to be contacted and made aware of the situation.

Read more comments from shelter director and find out about the man's efforts to get Buddy and Ching Ching home in this week's print or online editions.

Article doesn't say if the dogs were adopted or put down or what? If they were adopted, doesn't the shelter know who adopted them?
[Note, Reporter Angela Reinhardt] Ms. Robinson, the full article reports that the dogs were both transported to an undisclosed rescue in Gordon County. Because I was unable to verify the shelter I do not know where the dogs are now, but if you consider the rescue spent $500 per dog on heartworm treatment it would seem unlikely they would put them down. I would assume they are either still at the rescue or have been adopted out.

Too much attention to dogs. There are real people problems in the world. Kids going hungry and old people abandoned in nursing homes and here you are worrying about [edited] animals. And look at my name, I like them but they need to keep their place as below humans,

I like most dogs better than most people.

Hey Allan,

Perhaps less pot in the picture would have left more pets

Hey Allen

Perhaps with less pot in this picture you'd still have your pets

Hey Snoop Dog - You need to tell the sheriff; he still thinks it's illegal in pitiful Pickens
