Cherokee Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Sixes community Subway restaurant shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday night after an employee reported a man armed with a knife entered the store and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register. The store was closed and no customers were inside at the time of the incident. The employee fled through the rear door of the building when the suspect jumped over the counter. The suspect is described as a heavy set black male, wearing a black morph suit and plaid shirt. While at the cash register, the suspect briefly raised the mask covering his face.  He remained in a crouched position while inside the Subway before fleeing through the back door.

Investigators are asking for assistance from the public. If anyone has any information related to this incident or saw anything suspicious in the area around the Subway last night they are urged to call detectives at 770-928-0239.

The crime is coming north on 575 people. Cherokee County is not the safe haven it used to be. n5uk8
