Man stabbed in Waleska


Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Press Release    

Cherokee Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a “Person Stabbed” call at approximately 2am Wednesday morning at a home on Madisons Way in Waleska. When they arrived they found 24 year old Derrious Scott in a bedroom with stab wounds to his arm and torso. A lookout was given for Scott’s brother Devonte Scott, 20 years of age, who reportedly stabbed his brother. Both brothers live at the home with their mother on Madisons Way.

       A deputy spotted Devonte’s vehicle traveling on Belletta Drive in Canton and conducted a traffic stop. Devonte was taken into custody. At the time of his arrest Devonte had a significant amount of blood on his clothing. A small amount of Marijuana was also located in Devonte’s possession. Devonte told deputies the altercation was over money and drugs.
      Derrious Scott was transported to Kennestone Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Devonte was charged with Aggravated Assault and is currently in custody at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center being held without bond.
