The Jasper Merchants Association would like to announce our board of directors for the next two years. President elect is Haley Bouchie of ALL-A-CART Mobile Food Service. Vice President elect is Kirk Raffield who is an individual member. Treasurer elect is Susan Horton of Horton’s Pet
Supply. Secretary elect is Paul Poore of Relay For Life of Pickens County. This new board is
excited to be a part of the JMA and look forward to serving the members of the organization and the people of Pickens County.
The JMA would also like to announce several already planned events for the upcoming 2016 season and the dates these events will be held on. So get out your calendars and mark the dates for these exciting free family friendly fun filled events.
Saturday, March 26, 2016 – JMA Spring Festival – This event will combine three events together. Festivities begin at 9 a.m. and go until 2 p.m. at Lee Newton Park. One area will be the 2nd Jasper Arts Fair (Spring Edition) in the park and ride section on Stegall Drive. Second area will be the 9th Annual Easter egg hunt (start time TBA) in the front section of the park. Third area will be the annual Spring Fling hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 149 and will be located in the back section of the park by the stage area.
Saturday, April 9, 2016 – 3rd Annual BARK in the PARK at Lee Newton Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is a fundraiser to benefit Be-Paws We Care and Big Canoe Animal Rescue, with dogs for adoption, a vet clinic, vendors, and lots of fun and prizes. Also on this day is the annual Relay For Life yard sale that will take place in front of the Chamber of Commerce building. The Jasper Farmer’s Market will be open over in the park and ride area.
Monday, October 31, 2016 – Annual Trick or Treat on Main Street Downtown Jasper from 4 – 6 p.m. The 2nd Annual Zombie Walk Jasper will begin at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Jasper and walk down Stegall Drive to Lee Newton Park where a free family friendly recently released movie will be shown at the Park.
Saturday, December 3, 2016 – 10th Annual Night of Lights Parade Christmas Event Downtown Jasper with live music, tons of vendors, and pictures with Santa Claus, all starting at 4 p.m. The Parade of Lights begins promptly at 6 p.m. with lots of awesome floats celebrating the Christmas spirit and the flavor of living in Pickens County.
The JMA meets the 2nd Thursday of every month starting in February to November. The JMA currently meets at Rocco’s Pub located at 47 Mountainside Village Parkway in Jasper, GA. These meetings are open to all and we welcome anyone to come and join us in these meetings.
