    Jasper’s Main Street will be crowded with the Night of Lights Parade this Saturday.

    Get in the holiday spirit this weekend by coming out to both of the area Christmas parades - Ball Ground’s March of The Toys parade Friday or Jasper’s annual Night of Lights parade Saturday. Both parades will boast sparkling lights, music and holiday floats filled with decorations that could get even Ebenezer Scrooge’s heart ready for Christmas.

    To kick off the weekend, the 3rd annual March of the Toys parade for Toys for Tots will be held Friday evening, December 4th beginning at 7 p.m. in Ball Ground. Attendees to the parade are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots campaign. Collection boxes for the toys will be available at City Park and along the parade route on Main Street.
    The parade’s Grand Marshal will be Roger McDaniel who played football for the University of Mississippi. Superheroes like Batman, The Flash, Batgirl, Mr. Incredible and Captain America will also make an appearance. There will be princesses like Elsa, Anna, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Belle, Tinkerbell and Ariel accompanied by characters from The Wizard of Oz. Fans of the movie Vacation will love seeing three iconic cars - including the Griswold Truckster - that appeared in the 2015 motion picture. There’s also a replica of the Oscar Myer Weinermobile, a Batmobile, marching bands, floats, dance troupes and more.
    Ball Ground’s event will also feature a large model train display Friday evening from 4:30 until 10 p.m.
    On Saturday, December 5th the Jasper Merchants Association will host the annual Night of Lights Christmas parade.
    Beginning at 4 p.m. on the downtown stage, performers and singers will be on hand to kick off the night’s events. Santa Claus will be in front of the courthouse getting his list of Christmas wishes from children as he prepares for his biggest night of the year - Christmas Eve.
    Performing on the Main Street Stage starting at 4 p.m. are the talented musical brother and sister duo, C&P the Low Dough Show. At 5:20 p.m., Lawton Baggs will read a classic Christmas story for the children and at 5:45 p.m. Honorary Grand Marshal Erin Kirby will sing ‘Silent Night’ followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree on the courthouse lawn.
    The Grand Marshal for the 9th annual parade is 2014 Georgia Country Overall Artist of the Year Thomas Fountain. The parade begins at 6 p.m.
    From great food and craft vendors to a bounce house for the kids, Jasper’s Night of Lights Christmas parade is sure to provide entertainment for the whole family.

My review;
Ball Ground's parade was better, hands down. Better floats, more lights, more characters. Also better street lighting.
BUT, I liked seeing people and groups I knew in Jasper.
Jasper needs a few more floats or groups or something to bulk it some but not go as far as Ball Ground and make it where you don't recognized any one.
Also in Jasper it was too dang dark. May be the new trees.
