"Kids will have an opportunity to sport their Halloween costumes an extra night," says Karla Weaver of the Ball Ground Main Street Association. "In addition to Halloween night itself, they can show off their costumes the night before Halloween at our "Spooktacular Evening in the Park." The City of Ball Ground is sponsoring the event which will be open to all children.
The Spooktacular Evening will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 and will begin at 4 p.m. and continue until 9 p. m. with a number of events scheduled including a costume parade set for 5:30, a costume contest at 6 p.m. (for kids 5 to 13) , and the announcement of the winners of the downtown scarecrow contest to take place at 6:30. The scarecrow contest is being sponsored by the Ball Ground Elementary School PTA. In addition, a movie, Hotel Transylvania, will get underway at 7.
The Spooktacular Evening, according to Weaver, is a "trick or treat" event with plenty of free candy for the children. In addition, a number of local associations and businesses will have booths offering crafts, games, and other activities for those in attendance.
Weaver emphasized the event is open to all children and she encouraged children from surrounding communities to attend as well.
