I'm not sure, but I believe Tate Elementary is a little bit older than Jasper Middle School. Maybe it needs a little work but I doubt the taxpayers of Pickens County need to pay for a new school.

I'm not sure I get your point. Tate just went through a remodel that was originally quoted around $3 million (if memory serves me). I'm not sure where the number actually ended up or what ultimately got done, but I believe that is part of the debate (cheaper to renovate or build new?).

Understand that I'm not advocating one or the other. If I had to say right now, I'd be opposed to biting off $20MM for a new school. That said, if there is going to be a discussion about this (now or in the future), it needs to be a serious discussion with facts instead of flip comments.
