Hide and snake at swim meet

State-snake-2A (thankfully) harmless oak snake caused a whole lot of excitement for one Pickens family while at the state swim meet in Tifton Friday. The snake, which had to be extricated by an animal control officer, crawled under the family van and into the undercarriage.
While in south Georgia sweltering under the heat for her daughter Amanda’s state swimming competition Friday, Melissa Bramlett found the town’s reptile population to be a little too friendly.

During the break between preliminaries and afternoon finals, the Bramlett’s were seeking relief from the heat in their hotel room when a fellow swim mom called saying she had just seen a snake slither under her van.
