Elizabeth Joy Elliott, 21, of Jasper, GA, left this world all too soon on Saturday, June 2, 2018.
Joy was born in Austell, Georgia on May 6, 1997. She was a graduate of Pickens County High School and had attended Chattahoochee Technical College. Joy loved working with children, she just recently celebrated the accomplishment of passing the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) exam. Her strong work ethic and passion would have undoubtedly been an invaluable asset to any school system.
Known as having an adventurous and free spirit, Joy was always on the move. She enjoyed nature, camping, and simply being outdoors with her friends. Her genuine attitude of caring for others coupled with her fierce loyalty enabled her to make friends easily. Joy truly and authentically enjoyed the company of others. Her generosity knew no bounds!
Joy will be warmly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: her father & step-mother, Jim & Mary Kay Elliott; her mother, Natica Garrison; sister, Claire Elliott; aunt, Sharon Garrison; and numerous extended family members.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Tony Black officiating. Music was performed by Amy Sepke and heartfelt memories of Joy were shared by those in attendance. The family gathered together with friends on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the service began. Interment followed the service at Ivy Log Baptist Church Cemetery

Linda L. Osterman, 75, of Canton, GA, passed away on June 24th, 2018.
She leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Stephen; children, Stephen and his wife Marissa, Desirie and her husband Edwin Teague, and Cress; along with four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and another on the way.

Larry Richard Brendel, 67, died June 23, 2018 in Cartersville, Ga. after a brief illness.
Larry was born in Detroit, MI on January 9, 1951. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Brendel of Cartersville, Ga.; his parents, Glen and Lois Brendel of Fairmount, Ga.; his sons, Larry Brendel, Jr., and Scott Brendel; daughter and son-in-law, Tara (Chris) Fairbanks; grandchildren, Larry Brendel III, Jonathan Brendel, Corissa Brendel, Chloe Fairbanks and Devin Fairbanks, all of Michigan. He is also survived by his brother, Greg Brendel of Fairmount, Ga. and his sister and brother-in-law, Sherry (Dave) Reynolds of Talking Rock, Ga. He is preceeded in death by his daughter, Carissa Scarlet Brendel and his sister, Carol Patricia King.
The funeral service was held in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 27th with internment at Oakhill Cemetery in Cartersville.

Mr. Anson C. "A.C." Edwards passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Gordon Hospital in Galhoun, GA. after a brief illness.
Mr. Edwards was born March 28, 1937 to Andrew J. and Ola Jones Edwards. Survivors include his sisters, Dessa Caylor of the Jerusalem Community and Bessie Cochran of Fairmount; nephews, John Caylor of Jerusalem Community, Danny Cochran of Fairmount, Larry Cochran of Fairmount, John & Judy Walraven of Nickelsville, GA, Charles & Debbie Edwards of Twin Tanks Community and Jerry & Pam Edwards of Hinton Community; nieces, Bessie Lee & Bobby Durham of Chatsworth, Francis & Glen Burchett of Calhoun, Geri & Jim Kelly of Jerusalem Community, Pat & Freddie Gibson of Fairmount. Also surviving, great & great-great nieces and nephews.
Special friends and caregivers, Ken & Susan Simpson.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in the Cagle Funeral Home Chapel. Charles Edwards officiating.

Interment was at Hinton Community Cemetery immediately following the funeral services.

James Brycen Lee Garrett, age 13 days, of Ball Ground, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Northside Hospital Atlanta.
Survivors include his mother and father, Cody and Lauren Garrett of Ball Ground; brothers, Payton Garrett and Camdyn Garrett both of Ball Ground; grandmother, Janice Garrett of Ball Ground; grandparents, Jason and Becky Teague of Fairmount; great-grandmothers, Deborah Spence of Ball Ground, Shirley Davis of Waleska; great-grandfather, Jimmy Spence of Jasper; grandparents, Linda and John Johnson of Ranger; great-grandfather Michael Teague of Jasper; great-great-grandfather Gene Teague of Marietta; uncles, Cole Nelson of Waleska, Jay Teague of Fairmount; aunt, Madison Teague of Fairmount; aunt and uncle, Chris and Kayla Garrett of Ball Ground. Several other relatives also survive.
He was preceded in death by grandmother, Pat Davis and grandfather, James Garrett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Cory Rich and Pete Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
