He attended Phelps Central School in Phelps, NY. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1935. She and Harold Louis Palmer married on December 25, 1939. They lived in Phelps, New York. They welcomed two daughters, Jeanette and Shirley, in 1942 and 1948. Both Zip and Harold worked in the Phelps and Geneva areas throughout their lives. Zip worked for Phillips Electronics as a quality control supervisor for 32 years. Harold retired from the Town of Phelps Maintenance. They moved to Georgia in 1999.
Zip was an accomplished early computer geek and “gadgets” specialist and got her first at computer at age 85. She was an amazing and kind wife, mother and grandmother. Her wonderful cooking and pie baking skills will be remembered by her family forever. Harold was a skilled perfectionist at everything he did. Harold loved turning trash into treasure and took great pride in their home and grounds, fondly referred to by the family as “Palmer National Park”. He was skilled in many trades and they maintained their own home until 2013.
We will miss them both, they have been active parts of our lives for so many years. Our family was truly blessed to have them both for so many healthy years. All are welcome to attend and celebrate their lives with friends and family. The family would like to thank Heritage Hospice and Piedmont Hospital for their care and dedication.
