She joined him in ministry at Stuart Baptist Church, Santa Rosa Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Pelham, and First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe. Jo was a leader in children’s ministries, a Sunday school teacher, and a pioneer in older adult ministries.  After her children graduated, Jo returned to work as a bookkeeper for several businesses. She then went to work for the state of Georgia at the home health agency that served north central Georgia. Using her talents and the skills she developed in church work, she quickly rose through the ranks and became the agency director.  When the state privatized home health, she was made the director of the new nonprofit Northwest Home Health Agency.  Her experiences with home health patients led her to found Georgia Mountains Hospice, a nonprofit corporation for which she acted as CEO until her retirement. Jo touched many people in her life. She will be missed.         Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Georgia Mountains Hospice,  70 Caring Way, PO Box 580, Jasper, Ga 30143.
