Ruby Pinyan
    Mrs. Ruby L. Pinyan, age 94 of Canton, passed away on July 17, 2015 at Cameron Hall of Canton.
    The funeral service was held Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Darby Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Charles Davis and Reverend George Chastain will be officiating. Interment followed at Georgia National Cemetery at 1 p.m.
    Mrs. Pinyan is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Pinyan of Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Harry Johnson-Cooper of Canton; sister, Ruth Kendrick of Canton; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Pinyan was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Robert Pinyan and son Sonny Pinyan. Pam Cataldi
    Pamelia Marie “Pam” Cataldi, age 56, a resident of Jasper, went to be with her Savior on July 15, 2015. Her passing was due to complications from extended illnesses. She spent most of her youthful years, and attended school in Dawson and Pickens counties. Anyone who met Pam was sure to remember her, she had a way of filling a room with her presence. Pam was a loving mother to her four sons. She had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Amicalola Baptist Church. Pamelia is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mary Ruth Goode, and her brother Donal Goode.
    She is survived by her sons, Nicholas Cataldi and his wife Chelsea; Daniel Cataldi and his wife Melissa,  their children Daniel, Benjamin and Isabella; Anthony “K. C.” Cataldi; and Adam Cataldi and his son A.J.; sister, Joyce Hagin; brothers, David and Terry Goode.
    A celebration of life service was held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.

Donnie Bruce
September 5, 1921 – July 14, 2015

    Mr. Donnie Bruce, age 93, of the Hill City Community passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at his home.
    Mr. Bruce was born September 5, 1921 to C. V. and Lela Bruce in Jasper. He married Freebon Silvers and lived in Pickens County.  He served his country by proudly serving in the US Army Air Force Division during World War II.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
    Mr. Bruce is survived by his wife of 68 years, Freebon Bruce of Hill City; daughter, Gloria Coffey of Ellijay; son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Kathy Bruce of Jasper; grandchildren, Mathew and Denisha Bruce of Jasper, Christopher and Ada Coffey of Asheville, North Carolina, Lacey and Chad Jones of Jasper, Marissa and Jones Krogh of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and seven great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    The funeral service was held 2 p.m., Friday at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with grandson, Christopher Coffey delivering the eulogy.  Interment was at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Bobby Cantrell officiating.  Visitation was at Roper Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and until the funeral hour on Friday.  Serving as pallbearers were Matt Bruce, Chad Jones, Jones Krogh, Chad Wilkie, Jay Carver, Carson Jones, Gary Fountain, Rodney Gibson, Wallace Gibson, and Chris Coffey. Honorary pallbearers were Frank B. Mullinax, Loy Mullinax, Gene Jones, and Dillard Silvers. 
    The family accepted flowers or donations to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Mr. Bruce’s name.
    Arrangements were entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper.

Robert Roper
    Robert "Bobby" Roper, age 54 of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Tranquility @ Kennesaw Mt. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 3 p.m. in Liberty Baptist Church, Ball Ground with Rev. Rembrandth Hancock, Rev. Robert Allen and Rev. Buck Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 22 from 11 a.m. -8 p.m. and Thursday, July 23 from 12 noon-1:30 p.m.
    Mr. Roper is survived by his Wife, Digna Roper of Douglasville; daughter, Melissa Roper of Ball Ground: step-son, Phil Littrell of Dallas, Ga; step-daughter, Stephanie Mosley of Kennesaw; parents, Rev. Buddy & Mary Roper of Canton; brother, Rickey Doyle Roper of Gainesville; sisters, Teresa Cagle of Canton and Anita Foster of Fairmount; grandchildren, Ava and Brooklyn Mosley of Kennesaw.
    In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations go to help with funeral expenses.

Dorothy Davis
    Mrs. Dorothy Ann Davis, age 76, of Ball Ground, passed away peacefully at home on July 14th, 2015.
    She is survived by her daughter, Tonie Dowis; son-in-law, Bob Dowis; and sister Effie Lucille Taylor of Marrero, LA.
    A memorial service will be announced later.

Bettie Neighbours

    Mrs. Bettie Neighbours, age 82 of Jasper, passed away at her residence on Wednesday July 15, 2015.
    She is survived by her sons & daughter-in-law, Doug Neighbours  of Jasper, Wayne & Kay Neighbours of Dawsonville; daughters & sons-in-laws, Jan & Pressley Ridgill of Matthews, NC, Lucie & Jeff Barrett of Chatsworth, GA; daughter-in-law, Freda Neighbours of Canton; sister, Doylene Broughton of Calhoun, GA; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Neighbours and her son, David Neighbours.
    Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Rev. Huey Holloway officiating. Interment followed at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.  Serving as pallbearers were Michael Neighbours, Dale Neighbours, Noah Neighbours, Jeff Barrett, Charlie Barrett, Michael McBride and Larry Neighbors.
