Frank Lee Byers, age 81, of Mineral Bluff, Ga. passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at his residence in Woodstock following a short illness. He lived briefly in Jasper.
Mr. Byers was born June 11, 1933 in Mineral bluff to the late Carl and Mattie Bell Byers. He was preceeded in death by a son, Larry Dale Byers. He is survived by his wife, Galdis Byers of Woodstock; two daughters, Debbie Carden of Jasper and Kathy Casias of Colorado Springs, Co.; one grandson, Terry Byers of Tennessee; two granddaughters, Misty Quintana and Kristi Palaciso, both of Colorado Springs, Co.; six great-grandchildren, Jaiden Kerrin Casias, Azalia and Richard Quintant and Gerando and Damian Palacios of Colorado Springs, Co. Four sisters, three brothers, several nieces, nephews and dear cousins also survive.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. Burial followed in Tacca Baptist Church cemetery in Morganton, Ga.

November 12, 1952 – June 15, 2015
Nancy Lee Dean, age 62, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
Nancy was born November 12, 1952 to Ernest and Esteen Ledford in Ellijay, Georgia.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Dean; daughters and sons-in-law, Paige and Steven Turner of Canton and April and Chad Little of Leesburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Linda Ledford of Emerson, David and Sue Ledford of Canton, Hoyt Ledford of Jasper; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Virgil Payne of Acworth, Jean and Hoyle Fendley of Jasper, Carolyn and Herman Painter of Jasper, Debbie and Marvin Chadwick of Jasper, Angie Ledford of Ball Ground; grandchildren, Dawson Turner, Brayden Turner, Maddie Little, Ada Britt Little; and mother-in-law, Regina Dean. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive.
The funeral service was held Friday, June 19 at Jerusalem Baptist Church with Reverend Grant Wade, Reverend James Thompson, Reverend Gary Parker, Reverend Randy Weaver, and Reverend Bobby McFarland.
Interment followed in the church cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made toward the funeral expenses.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mr. John Faix Jr., age 93 of Jasper, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Jim & Sheri Faix of Jasper; step-son & step-daughter-in-law, Bobby & Trish Ray, Anchorage, AK; sisters, Helena Faix-Flohr, Missoula, MT, Margaret (Peg) Peterink, San Jose, CA. and three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with minister Kasey Kuyper officiating.
Interment followed at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. Serving as pallbearers were Jonathan Faix, Colton Wilkins, Jeff Busscher, Tyler Johnson, Steve Bruce, Matthew Mullins, Jon-Paul Faix and Luke Collis.
The family requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to Georgia Mountain Hospice, 70 Caring Way, Jasper, GA 30143.

Mr. Danny L. Owenby, age 64 of Fernandina Beach FL (formerly of Pickens County) passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 in the Warner Hospital Center for Caring. Mr. Owenby was a decorated Navy veteran.
Mr. Owenby is survived by his wife, Janet Owenby, Fernandina Beach, FL; one daughter, Dani Leigh Owenby, Fernandina Beach, FL; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda & Mark Sanders, Uncasville, CT; one granddaughter, Ayla Reese, Fernandina Beach, FL and several relatives in Pickens County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vaughn and Thelma Owenby; sisters, Brenda Cantrell and Wanda Ann Owenby.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Revs. Robert Allen and Kenneth Kirk officiating. Interment followed at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Tommy Wehunt, Ronnie Kirk, Philip Henderson, Lamar Carver, Jason Cantrell and Mark Sanders. Local Chapter 41 DAV in charge of Military Rites.
