Charles Davis
June 3, 1931 – May 23, 2015

    Mr. Charles Henry Davis, age 83, of Jasper passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Heritage Hospice in Marietta. He was born June 3, 1931 to Elmer and Alice Davis in Gilmer County. He married Vivilore Moore.
    He is survived by his son, Dale Davis of Orlando, Florida; sisters, Trulia Cantrell of Jasper, Gladys Wheeler of Cleveland, and Faye Payne of Cleveland.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    Services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 30 at Sunlight Baptist Church in Ellijay with Reverend Harold Cantrell officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Junior Gravley
    Mr. Junior Gravley, 67, of Canton, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
    Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry Johnson and Rev. Huey Holloway officiating.  Interment will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. 
    Mr. Gravley was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and retired as a Foreman with Cobb EMC.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Monnie Gravley, Sr. and daughter, Nancy Holloway.  Survivors include his wife, Kassandra Gravley of Canton; children, Donna (Buddy) Davis of Holly Springs, Amy (Rodney) Voyles of Jasper and Brian (Christen) Gravley of Canton; siblings, Dean Gravley of Ball Ground, Laura Davis of Canton and Corine West of Canton; grandchildren, Keith Martin, Nick Davis, Landin Gravley, Elizabeth McColloogh, Holli Craven, Sara Voyles and Michelle Voyles; great grandchildren, Kayla Martin, Kylee Craven and Aderonna Williams.

Howard Cantrell
    Rev. Howard Cantrell, age 76 of Talking Rock, passed away at Piedmont Hospital Atlanta on Thursday, May 28, 2015.
    He is survived by his wife, Jean Cantrell of Talking Rock; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy & David Tippens of Talking Rock, Jackie & Dale McClain of Calhoun, LA; sister, Jean Cantrell of Buckhead; grandson, Ted Lakus III and several nieces and nephews.  Rev. Cantrell was preceded in death by grandson, Brian Lakus and several brothers and sisters.
    Services were held Sunday May 31, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Talking Rock Baptist Church with Revs. Robert Allen & Kenneth Kirk officiating.  Interment followed at the church cemetery.  Pallbearers were Jason Cantrell, Ben Cantrell, Tad Lakus III, Randy Stanley, Richard Biddy and Randy Biddy.  Honorary Pallbearer was Danny Cantrell.

Rebecca Hightower
July 30, 1947 – May 31, 2015

    Mrs. Rebecca Janice Hightower, age 67, of the Jerusalem Community passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.  Janice was born July 30, 1947 to Jerry and Jessie Holcombe, Jr. in Marietta.  She married Abe Hightower and worked at Canton Wholesale.
    She is survived by her husband, Abe Hightower; daughters and sons-in-law, Leigh and Terry Shinafelt of Jasper, Jill and David Jones of Talking Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kelly Spence of Talking Rock; step-daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Jeremy Henderson of Jasper, sisters, Beverly and Thomas Roper of Jasper, Charlene and John Creekmur of Woodstock; special adopted children, Raymond and Teresa Cloud; 13 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.  Several other nieces, nephews, and relatives also survive.
     Janice was preceded in death by step-daughter, Debbie House; mother, Jessie Holcombe; and brother Jerry Holcombe, III.
    Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 3 at the chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Elliott, Reverend Richard Cambell, and Reverend Buck Parker officiating. Interment followed at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.

Michael Cloud, Sr.
August 13, 1962 – May 29, 2015

    Michael Benson Cloud, Sr., age 52, of Tate passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at his home.  He was born August 13, 1962 to Lloyd and Jean Cloud in Atlanta.  He married Tracy Jarrett.
    Michael is survived by his wife, Tracy of Tate; son, Michael Benson Cloud, Jr. of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Michael Childers of Talking Rock; sisters, Angie Cloud Jones of Dahlonega, Missi Cloud Mabry of Jasper; grandchildren, Miranda Ann Childers and Kaylee Childers.  Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
    A memorial service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
    A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.

Barry Chastain
        Mr. Barry Chastain, age 59, of Dawsonville passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at Northside Hospital Forsyth.
    He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law: Mindi Bramlett and Joshua Sumrell, Ball Ground; mother: Eunice Chumbley of Dawsonville; sisters: Cindy Booth of Ellijay and Sheila Beck of Jasper; grandchildren: Myles Bramlett, Kayla Bramlett, and Rayna Sumrell.

    The family received friends on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Mr. Chastain will be cremated following the visitation.
    The family requests that those who wish to send flowers to send a live green plant.

William Lehmberg
    Mr. William Joseph Lehmberg, age 79, of Big Canoe passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
    Mr. Lehmberg was born in Dallas, Texas on December 31, 1935 to the late Lee Lehmberg and Mildred Woodhead Lehmberg.  He was a member of Big Canoe Chapel and retired from Gold Kist.
    He is survived by his wife, Peggy Lehmberg of Big Canoe; children, Suzanne Hair of Charlotte, NC, and William Joseph Lehmberg, Jr. of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Elizabeth Lehmberg of Nashville, TN, William “Billy” Hair of Charlotte, NC, Mildred Hair of Charlotte, NC, Eleanor Hair, Charlotte, NC, and Amelia Lehmberg of Nashville, TN.
    A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Lehmberg will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Big Canoe Chapel with Reverend Lamar Helms officiating. The family will receie friends immediately following the service in the Broyles Center.
    The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Bill Lehmberg Memorial Fund c/o Big Canoe Chapel.
